Really lovely interior decor, but straight away I was disappointed that our table of 8 was crammed onto a table that really should have had a maxium of 6. We were uncomfortable the entire time as it was just too squishy. Our request to have a table added was denied as they were fully booked, eventhough the table for two next to us wasn't used the time we were there. The antipasto was nice but nothing to rave about. This is meant to be THE place for wood fired pizza so I had the Caserta - tomato base, buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto and rocket. I also had some of the Suprema - which had pumpkin, pine nuts, goats cheese and rocket. I preferred the Suprema as there were more flavours, however the pumpkin was not cooked enough all the way through. So yes, it was nice, but have I had better wood fired pizza elsewhere in Melbourne? Yes, I certainly have - I can think of 2 places in the eastern suburbs that are better. The actual pizza base was the standout at 400 Gradi, but the toppings were just ok. The pizzas were also more oily than what I've had before. Staff were attentive, but were not very friendly...a smile wouldn't have hurt.
Been here a number of times and the pizza is always fantastic! The wait staff are always nearby but no in your face. This was the first time I tried their desserts and I highly recommend ordering the sharing plate. There are 4 homemade desserts and you can definitely tell these are quality made.
