Having been regularly visiting various 7-Eleven stores across the city (and across the states), I am very much aware of their customary level of customer service. But this 7-Eleven seems to bring its service to a new level of low, it throws away even any shadow of expectations right out of the store.
There used to be two 7-Eleven stores in North Sydney area, but since one closed a few years ago, this remaining store seem to have been acting up very unreasonably. While all 7-Eleven elsewhere accept payment by card for travel pass purchases, this very store gives its own exception and only accepts cash for the very same type of transaction. I believe this is their blatant attempt of trying to minimize operating expenses at a cost of customer convenience.
Furthermore, this store has been repeatedly refusing offers issued by the 7-Eleven Australia by not honouring the vouchers given away from 7-Eleven Australia Facebook page. Yes, there were similar attempts of this behavior at other stores, but this store has brought the conflict even further by tilting the cashier away from customers view so the customers are in the dark as to whether the offers were genuinely scanned or whether they intentionally skipped the correct instructions on redeeming the offers, making them invalid.
To make things even worse, the store does not seem to give any care to address the customers concerns. Simply put, their behavior is downward appealing.
This store has successfully managed to take the convenience out of convenience store. I really hope they would realise this and put in an effort to improve their overall service.
