I was hesitant to visit Abbey bridal having read some bad reviews of customer service. However when I visited the store I was pleasantly surprised. I didnt have an appointment and was asked if I was happy to browse while I waited for an available sales assistant - which I was. After less than 15 minutes I had the most helpful Elena run around after me whilst I changed my mind and fussed about.
Definately worth the wait! I could not have asked for more.
I particularly liked that she did not try to pressure me into gown styles I was not interested in, which I have found at several other bridal stores.
I advise every body not to go to abbey bridal.. biggest mistake i ever made... I ordered my dress they told me it would be in in 6 mths time which everything was ok i had a dress right? How wrong could i be. 8 weeks before my wedding they rang me to tell me that they ordered my dress in the wrong colour (ivory instead of diamond white) and also told me the dress was there.. at this time i didn't know what to do i had organised everything around a white dress white accessories etc. I told them this and they said they weren't sure what they could do for me maybe i could go try some dresses on but they would have to be of the sale rack if they had any in my size.because they couldn't re order my dress in white..so rushed up there to try on dresses they had nothing, they were more then happy to sell me a nother ivory dress, asked to try on my dress in ivory apparently it wasn't there yet they told me it was. Ended up getting another dress but in ivory they couldn't tell me what discounts they would give me for there stuff up. I had to wait another week to find that out.. Finally they told me nothing special at all asked to speak with the management of the store well that started drama the staff on front desk were nothing but rude every time i dealt with them... finally got my dress they offered free alterations which i shouldn't have taken they stuffed that up big time one side is shorter then the other..its having to be re done from the staff near me to fix there mistakes..The last time i went there to pick up my dress I asked if my original dress was in, apparently they weren't sure if it was there and this 5 weeks out from my wedding..so if you read between the lines they didn't order it at all. PLEASE DON'T GO THERE I DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I DID. If i could give them no stars i would but u have to.
I went to Abbey Bridal after looking for a particular dress on the internet which I could only find at this store to try on. When we got there I expected a bit of a snobby attitude, considering where the store is, but I didn't get that at all! The ladies were so lovely, we had an appointment at 10.30 and they were right on time. Suzannah looked after me and spent over two hours putting me in and out of dresses, she couldn't have been more helpful. She gave me an honest opinion on each dress and even described the dress she could see me in, and I ended up buying almost EXACTLY what she had described! They were not pushy at all, directing us straight to the sale rack to start looking so we could try to find a bargain....which we did!
Honestly, the store is gorgeous, their prices comparable and their service amazing...I would totally recommend them to anyone looking for a Maggie Sottero in particular!
I cannot say this plainly enough. Do not go to Abbey Bridal. It's all about them, their payment terms, They won't store the dress for you, they insist things which are wrong with it are right and have a care factor of ZERO.
My experience was so bad I don't believe the positive review on this page is genuine, the other negative reviews are spot on with my experience.
I would like to express my deep disatisfaction and anger towards Abbey Bridal. I cancelled an order one hour after placed it and I lost $979.67. It may have been my fault for signing such a ridiculous cancellation policy in the first instance however for them to then not even comprimise and allow me to spend my money in the store on bridal accessories was a joke! How can they justify me losing this amount of money and not receiving any goods?. In the midst of all their rigid policies Abbey Bridal forget the true meaning behind a wedding and pleasing their customers and most importantly that word of mouth is a very powerful tool. Very Unhappy!!
DO NOT BUY YOUR WEDDING DRESS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The customer service is horrible!!!! I ordered my dress, and had to pay it off monthly, you can only go into the store mon-friday to pay it off (You can forget about going in over the weekend- not allowed!!!) or you can send them a cheque in the mail, and also include a self addressed stamped envelope because they are too tight to send you a receipt!!!!
When my dress did come in, they didnt even have the courtesy to call me, instead they sent me a letter!!!!!????
So today I go in to try my dress on, (Moday - friday in your own time!!!!!) and they forgot to order my strap for the dress! I was waiting around for 40min before they could tell me that I may get it in october! My wedding is early novmber???!!!!!!!!!
To make things worse, I have to take my dress home that day, as they have no room to keep it and that I should come back with the dress for alterations!!!!! My wedding is four months away!!!! Where do I keep my dress???!!!!! I cant leave it the bag they gave me because according to them, It will yellow and smell!!!!! Cover it with a sheet they say!!!!!!
Abbey Bridal is a Joke of a bridal boutique! If you want to be treated like nobody and just a number!! This is the place for you!!!!!
Stay AWAY!!!!! I had read some bad reviews and thought...oh its ok, It cant be that bad???
As much as there are bad review of Abbey Bridal, I can officially say that I have a good review!! I was really please with how they handled everything and gave us upfront warning that no cameras or mobiles can be used in the store (privacy issues). If you really wanted to, they had deodorant, tissues and bra fillets that you could use!!
I had a wonderful lady Anita who helped me, I couldn't thank her enough, she wasn't the pushy type nor was she wanting to get me in and out. She was truthful and even let me try the dress I loved on again to make sure it was the one! I also arrived late and she still helped me while helping another lady!
So for all those brides reading this (as did I before), go in and see for yourself, and if possible ask for Anita! =)
Many people warned me how bad the service was when I said I was going to Abbey Bridal to look for a wedding gown and I couldnt believe how true they were. The ladies were extremely rude. Of the 5 gown I was interested in trying on, they only had 1 available. I was then left in the changeroom for 15 minutes with only their "white gloves" and a skirt hoop while they tried to find me some gowns. They chose not to listen to what I would like to try on, but rather brought out the most hideous and expensive gown to try on. Wedding dress shopping is suppose to be fun and one of the best days of your lives, it became a nightmare. Luckliy in the same building I found Fashions by Farina. They were wonderful and I found my dress. I would never recommend Abbey Bridal to anyone!
Want to feel like you don't matter? or that you are just 'another' bride that should wait in line? Come to Abbey Bridal. Though there were employees standing at the counter- I was told I couldn't be served until the 20th of February (in over a month's time). It was frustrating walking around- seeing quite stunning gowns (Maggie Sorrento designs)- but not being able to try any of them on. What frustrated me more was then being asked by an employee if "I needed assistance?". Cos I did- but I knew they weren't going to give me any. If you want your bridal shopping experience to be enjoyable- I wouldn't recommend Abbey Bridal. If you would like a cheap dress with little customer service? - Then this is the place.
