Purchased $180 worth injections for overseas travel, received the injections and left, days later when i had my doctors appointment, my GP informed me that the injections were useless as they were not refrigerated. I wasn't aware that vaccinations need to be stored at temperatures between 2-8 degrees, apparently a term called "cold-chain management"... a standard practise in regards to handling vaccines.
As i mentioned i wasn't aware of this procedure, and was never informed by the Acland Court Pharmacy that this was the case. So with that in mind I went back into the store to discuss an option for a refund or exchange as they were now longer use-full. They were rather aggressive with wanting to do either as they had decided that this wasn't their responsibility, they plainly refused to talk the situation out and come to a resolution... so now i have $180 or useless vaccinations in which i have to re-purchase...
Following this i did a little more research and found that its a reasonable practise to inform patients/customers of the importance that vaccinations never go warm, its also reasonable to supply a foil-bag or a lunch box size disposable esky with a gel-pack (sometimes at an additional cost sometimes not), depending on the length of travel the customer would take. Discovering this information I'm confused to understand why this isn't Acland Court Pharmacies issue? Aren't they meant to be a business assisting and providing a medical service? Isn't patient care important to this pharmacy?
I went to the pharmacy on 31/5/11 I had a prescription with repeats on it. When filling it they took the duplicate which means I am now (4 months on) unable to get my repeat.
Obviously incompetent!
I went to Acland Court today with a deep chest cough to fill a script for Augmentin Duo. I had lost my concession card a few days before hand and told them this and gave them the letter my concession card came with. They were not interested at all. They said I could not get the discount. I got the medication even though it was four times the concession cost. I then left the pharmacy and went to another pharmacy to get another script filled, they said right away that they could simply call medicare and get my concession number. I was so upset with Acland court, I went back and tried to get a refund but they wouldn't hear of it. They were also very impatient with me when I was trying to find out which cards I needed. This is a money, not people oriented pharmacy.
