Hey there,
just went back from my trip to the yongala wreck.
I went with the guys from Adrenalin Dive. These guys are really cool!. I just had the best diving experience in my life!
I had no idea, that the yongala is one of the best wrecks in the world and australias best dive spot.
What you see there is just about everything wanna see when you are under water! There is different types of rays, turtles, big schools of tuna and trevally, millions of little fish, seasnakes mureans, sharks, heaps of beautiful corals - I have never seen so many beatutful things in 30 minutes!
The crew was really helpful and they knew a lot about the reef. Everything was just perfect.
If you travel up the coast and you are a diver - DO IT! You will not regret this!
I'm currently staying at the reef lodge - it is a cool backpacker!

I just had the greatest time in 2010 at the Yongala wreck with adrenalin dive.
I travelled arround the world for a few years and had seenmany divespots before, but this wreck is just wicked! There is everything a diver wants to see.
I went on a weekend trip from Townsville - it is the closest city to the wreck where you can go on a live aboard boat. The company who does it is called Adrenalin Dive.
It is a really good company with extremely nice staff (o; We had a lot of fun and I felt save.
I liked, that they gave me a lot of information about the wreck and the reef. The food was ok, too.
What to see ..
Mantas, turtles, all sorts of corals, large schools of tuna and trevally, bat fish, black tip reef shark, leppard shark, seasnake, muraene, bullrays, millions of little fish and I'm sure I forgot heaps (o;
A must do, when you travel along the east coast and come through Townsville, I'd say.
