A traditional samurai martial art with a holistic approach to highly effective & practical self defense, combat, strategies, tactics, fitness & the training of one's heart & mind.

Aiki Jutsu is a traditional Japanese martial art with a holistic approach to training. It literally means the art of blending with energy.
It has the physical aspects of training (open hands and weapons) but more importantly it focuses on developing one's mind & martial values/ethics. It is a martial way (Budo) for self defense, combat, fitness, self awareness/confidence & better management of challenges in life.

Instructors of Aiki Jutsu are fully accredited by The Martial Arts Industry Association (MAIA), a peak industry body for martial arts in Australia. MAIA is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission. In addition to passing the strict standards & rigorous trainings of the school (Aiki Ten Shin Sho Kai International), all Aiki Jutsu instructors are first aid trained & hold a blue card.

What is 'Traditional Martial Arts'?
Traditional martial arts training is about, amongst other things, controlling & if possible removing of the ego. It focuses not only on physical, tactical & technical skill trainings. It is also about the training of one's mind, heart & attitudes based on a set of comprehensive time tested principles developed by old masters of the past. A key aim is to prevent or resolve conflicts, & achieve peace within oneself and with others without compromising the ability to defend & protect oneself & others.

One may be strong & skillful, but if one's heart is in the wrong place; one has wasted the training. Humility, Honour, Loyalty, are some key values that matter more than techniques, strength, the number of black belts & medals one has & how many martial styles one trains in. If one had not spent as much time in training & cultivating the mind & heart as one would in technical & skills training, it would show.
