Akaneya is a delightful Japanese restaurant in the heart of the CBD (King Street to be exact). Offering a wide selection of fresh Japanese delicacies from the very tasty Bento boxes to a variety of sushi and sashimi options. The Sushi and Sashimi Box is one of my favourites ;). The service is friendly and quick and perfect for a work lunch, farewell or birthday. Having a party? They can even cater platters at an affordable price. Definitely one to check out next time you are looking for fresh and tasty Japanese cuisine

Popped in here for a quick dinner after some Thursday night shopping. Can't fault it really. Food was fresh and tasty, service was polite and very quick. For $40 between two of us, we were full to the brim by the time we left. Definitely plan on eating there again.

The food here is actually quite good, and it gets packed out on Friday lunchtime, so you definately need to book.

I'd usually get the bento box lunch or the boat, and for $20ish, it is definately more than enough food for one.

The reason for my low rating, was that the last time we ate there, we all ordered the bento box, and we found a slug in the salad in one of the meals. (At least we know the food is garden fresh.) We told the waitress, and she gave $10 off that one meal, where I would've thought it should have been free.

Apart from that, it is one of the better Japanese food places in the Sydney CBD.

This is a great place to go for lunch. The food is fresh and tasty, and while it is a little expensive, it is definitely worth it. There are other Japanese restaurants around that may be cheaper, but you will not receive the same quality of food at the other places.
