Had to sit nearly in the carpark when the restaurant was nearly empty. When we asked to be moved, they said no and just carried on as if nothing mattered. I thought the idea was to get repeat patronage...not us, never again.

Here I am again, one year later writing not such a great review. Al Dente has recently changed management, and with it, it has changed quality (unfortunately not for the better). I'm yet to eat in with the new management but did get some take away pizzas a few weeks ago which might as well have been from pizza hut. The bases were chewy and not what you'd expect for a wood fired pizza. What once was a buzzing hub in the centenary suburbs, is now a substandard restaurant that closed before 9 last Friday - so sad!

What a fantastic restaurant! The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to ensure all customers have a great night, a big shout out to Penny who is very personable and provides great Italian hospitality. Being Italian I'm very fussy when it comes to eating pizza and pasta - I'm used to it tasting like Nonna's! Al Dente doesn't match Nonna's ... it beats it! Be warned this place is very popular and you'll need to book in advance. It's a shame the restaurant isn't bigger - it can get quite loud at times.

Simply the best italian food I've ever had. Been twice so far and will keep going back.

We have been to Al Dente three times now and are still stunned how such a place exists in the suburbs. From the professional, friendly and efficient staff to the modern, classy decor, to the delicious food... very rare to get such quality outside metro or city outskirts!

We'd been dreaming of a local trattoria-style Italian joint for ages. We'd imagined friendly service, family friendly, good quality authentic Italian cuisine that is well priced. Then a miracle happened and Al Dente appeared. Now the reno is over, there is outside dining too. Always reliable and great night out.

I highly recomend Al Dente. It's about time that there was a quality restaurant in the area

SINCE opening just over a month ago in the Brisbane suburb of Middle Park, the staff at Al Dente have been run off their feet.

The little Italian restaurant is owned by brothers Daniel and Peter Milos. Daniel runs front of house, while Peter, formerly of Mario's at the Dining Room in Hendra, heads the kitchen.

The restaurant occupies a corner shop in a small shopping centre, so looking out over a car park isn't the most attractive of prospects. However, they've done well with the interior, creating a modern and fresh feel with dark timber chairs, white tables and red feature walls.

At the front of the restaurant is a pizza counter, which serves both the restaurant and walk-ins.

On our visit there was a queue almost out the door for the traditional dough-based creations, so we decided to see what the fuss was about.

The menu is extensive with breads, entrees, pastas, risottos; mains which are categorised by meat; plus pizzas and calzones.

The pizzas vary in style from traditional to gourmet and we opted for the Al Dente Supreme which was absolutely delicious.

    Topped wit...
