Good after work bar. Seems to have the balance right in that it always seems busy but you can get served really quickly. Much better option than the Firehouse next door.

a nice place to catch up after work however be warned, once you are in their it is very difficult to leave! The staff are efficient and very helpful and the menu is varied, well presented and very good for a pub

A refreshing alternative to the bland venues that dominate corporate North Sydney.

Pub trivia is taking place in the room next door where after-work business types are battling it out over plates of bistro food. But we are in the adjoining Corner Bar cocktail lounge, reclining on stylish low-set chairs and listening to groovy lounge music. Attached to the Albert Hotel and located in the heart of corporate North Sydney, this smartly decorated bar is a refreshing change to the plethora of bland put-the-corporate-credit-card-behind-the-bar style venues that seem to dominate the area. I'm told by my drinking companion, who works nearby, that it is pretty much the only bar of its kind in North Sydney - in other words, there aren't plasma television screens, flickering with sport, attached to the available wall space. A curved banquette lines one wall, a variety of pretty, multicoloured cushions propped up against the seat. And one wall has a glistening reproduction of a Gustav Klimt mural of a jewel-clad lady who peers down at patrons lounging below. Fli...
