Ambrosia On The Spot is in a good location with great food and service. Had breakfast and coffee there and was impressed. It is clean and has that old fashion feeling and values. -

It's the contradictions that define this popular local hangout. Located in The Spot, the little hiccup of a village that shares the same postcode as Randwick, Ambrosia looks like a "worker's caf", but serves food and coffee like a 5 star restaurant. The tables and chairs are basic, there's no air conditioning in summer or heating in winter, the only decorations are the wall menus, and the service is "self". However, once you stop looking for ambience, you discover that the food is consistently superb and as close to homemade as you can get, and the coffee is so good you could go broke ordering it. I should know - my family and I take away at least 6 cups a day! Living around the corner from this incredible cafe is hard on our budget. The staff are like family, and when I complained that the rice pudding shouldn't have rosewater in it, they took it out! (I also now go broke eating rice pudding.) "Don't judge a book by its cover", goes the saying. This place proves it.
