Directions
Seductive lighting helps to set the tone at this comfortable trattoria. Couples and diners come here for an intimate, yet affordable dining experience. Antipasti options include bruschetta - loaf of fresh baked bread with tomato, Spanish onions, basil & extra olive oil along with local steamed mussels in a rich Napoli sauce, with white wine, mixed spices, garlic and shallots. For pastas, there's Spaghetti al Sugo di Mare - a selection of fresh seafood with white wine, parsley and extra virgin olive oil and for mains the Pollo al Barolo - fillet chicken breast pan fried in Italian Champagne is well worth a try.

Noteworthy specials include several market fresh seafood dishes. Service is well meaning but slightly spasmodic due to the popularity of the venue. A good selection of local wines is available along with a few Italian varietals or bring your own for a small corkage charge.

Went to this restaurant after being recommended. We were very disappointed in the food. Even though it's an Italian Restaurant, i'm sure the cooks are not italian. The pasta was grossly overcooked and sloppy. My husband's marinara had water running on the bottom of the dish. My fish which was meant to be grilled resembled poached fish and the roast patatoes must also have been pre-cooked a few days prior with burnt brown skin on the outside and white inside. The desserts were definitely not italian as well. The brulee resembled a pudding with sauce on top. As we were in group I was very embarrassed that i had invited friends along who were also upset at the quality of the food. I definitely WOULD not recommend this place to anyone!!!! Best advice...STAY AWAY!!

I have only been here once and I thought it was great. Unlike the previous review, i found the staff responsive, would have a chat with you but kept moving. The food was fabulous and the ambiance is delightful-I loved it!

Today was the last time I've ever set foot in Amici. I was humiliated and embarassed in front of my husband and step children and that without reason. I was told by a staff member that I couldn't have the coffee I ordered because "you were rude". I tried to reason with them as I honestly did not say anything rude about them - the three persons on my table are my witnesses - but they did not stop their accusations and insults. What a pity, till today Amici was my favourite restaurant in Melbourne.

Amici's Restaurant is amust visit. This place was nearly full on a Monday night @ 7:30pm when I left. Having only booked 30 minutes prior to arriving for a table of 2, we were placed with a window view which was great. The service was very timely at all times. The food was delicious and the menu was just the right size. A wonderful experienc e all round. Will definitely be returning.

Amici has long been a favourite venue for our bi yearly girls night catch up dinner. Spread across Melbourne, we find Camberwell to be a good middle meeting ground and are never disappointed with the atmosphere and food. We manage to squeeze tweleve of us around the private dining table at the back of the restaurant normally reserved for bookings of up to eight - cosy and intimate to say the least! The other attraction is BYO as we like to indulge in a drop of French sparkling to celebrate whatever milestone is relevant to a particular group member at the time - on this occasion our lovely friend Fran's 50th birthday. Bruschetta is always ordered to start our meal and from there we manage to choose selections from most areas of the extensive menu. A favourite of mine is the chicken fillet pan fried in Italian champagne and served with a selection of steamed vegetables. The wait staff are friendly and courteous and the atmosphere always inviting.
