The food on offer is a bit average for the price although their drinks are spot on. Their brownie is also amazing. Fantastic little spot to catch up with a friend or pick up some books to peruse over coffee. Great place where you could easily lose several hours in the afternoon.

This used to be the whole package. books and awesome food. still has the books but the food has gone walkabout. Dunno if its a change in staff but this place wont be winning any food awards with the sloppy unseasoned food i was served up with today. thoroughly disappointing. will be spending my hard earned somewhere else from now on.

This is a great cafe with great atmosphere on a very busy street! Though once you enter, you escape the noise and bustle immediately. Great coffee, recommend. We have been using it to meet early morning and discuss our meetings there on a weekend!

Ampersand has a great selection of second hand books. Mr Fussy and I have spent many a Sunday here having a lazy brunch and walking out with a book or 2. One could spend all day here and not be made to feel like your table time was up. I don't recommend sitting outside as the smell of urine is a big deterrent.

- I agree, they have some great second hand books. There is also a $1 bin where you can sometimes find that book you've wanted ... for a bargain.
