I have just recently moved to Sydney and went to a local vet in my area when i first got here but was unhappy with the service i received. Last week while walking my dog in the park, he was attacked severely by another dog. I had heard good reports from other dog walkers about Annandale Animal Hospital so i quickly rushed my dog there.
On arrival i was obviously an emotional wreck, but the staff there rushed straight to me and took my little man downstairs to put on oxygen. After the vet examined my dog's injuries i was then spoken to assured that they would do everything they could to save him. ...which they did!! They put him on fluids straight away and once he was stable he was taken in for surgery. I was called several times through out the day by either the vets or the nurses and was given updates on how my dog was doing which i thought was great!! The next day i was able to go and see my dog and spend some time with him. When i went downstairs to the hospital area i was amazed at how clean the place was and how friendly and welcoming the other staff were. I found my dog laying in a big cage on a nice comfy bed with a blanket, heat pad and even one of the nurses gave him a cuddly toy to sleep with. After a few days i was able to take my little one home :)
Without a doubt one of the BEST vet hospitals i have ever seen over the last 35 years!
Well done Annandale Animal Hospital.....truely compassionate people!!

I took my dog to this vet and the staff were friendly and professional. The vet diagnosed and treated the problem (ruptured knee ligamant). My dog is happy and walking normally now. I was impressed by how much the staff cared for all the animals they had in hospital. I could not recommend the practice more highly

I took my cats to Annandale Animal Hospital for around 5 years but have had enough after my cat was diagnosed with FLUTD - we saw two or three medical staff at this practice over a period of two years for urinary tract infections and urinary blockages and the medical staff I saw prescribed daily medication to acidify the urine, prozac (an antidepressant!) to treat the cat for "anxiety" and an operation to have my cat de-sexed was suggested after only one urinary blockage to 'stop it happening again'. I tried everything that was suggested to me including a change in diet, etc., but the FLUTD kept reoccurring and the medical staff kept telling me to put the cat back on daily antidepressants. It wasn't until after the second urinary blockage that I decided to change medical staff - the new medical staff I saw prescribed biscuits and we have not had a single problem since in 6 months!!!

Spending more and more money, when the only thing that worked for the cat (the biscuits) was the only thing they didn't suggest. They would rather me consent to de-sexed my cat and being on daily antidepressants and other medications than try something as simple and as effective as medicated biscuits?? Very disappointing service. It's certainly the last time I'd go to them.

The whole team at Annandale Animal Hospital are the best. They are caring, professional and give the best of service. For about 7 months I was coming to them at least weekly while my cat was receiving treatment for cancer. While he did not in the end beat his disease I know that he had his best chance of betting it with them and that he received the best of care and had access also to brilliant referral specialists when required. I can with absolutely no hesitation recommend them.

These guys are the best! In all matters relating to our little fluffy ones, these guys were practical and honest. They are also very affordable (unlike some vets in the inner west who shall remain nameless). They have a great team of vet nurses who are often feeding abandoned baby kittens at the front counter - awwww. They have a great outdoor area along a rock face for kitties staying in the boarding facilities and they always showed by ancient 20 year old mog extra care and love (you need it when you are the equivalent of a 100 year old!). When I had to let my ancient cat shuffle off this mortal coil (ooh am tear-ing up) the vet was the kindness and most sympathetic I could ever have hoped for. He was simply fantastic. Big cyber hug for him. They showed great sensitivity at the time and not to ask me to pay the bill until I returned later to collect my beasties ashes (the also arranged a cremation).
