    We stayed here on the way to Brisbane recently. The atmosphere was very friendly. Great staff. The place is set out nicely and is very clean, although typically 'motel' in layout. The rooms are dated, but clean and pleasant. LCD tvs a plus, so no nasty buzzing noises from a CRT. Our room was upgraded to one on the first floor overlooking the pool. There was a balcony with chairs and a little table. Unfortunately we couldn't use this or the pool because it was cold and rainy, which was disappointing. There's plenty of storage space in the rooms, which is also a plus.

    The reason this motel doesn't get a higher rating from me is because if the bed and the shower. The bed was quite hard. Admittedly, I have, once, slept on a harder mattress. Neither I nor my hubby slept well, and we were both up at 5am at which point we decided to check out early to continue up to Brisbane. The shower was more like a mist, and it took forever to heat up. There was something in the info booklet in the room about water saving shower heads, but when it takes a good 5 mins to heat up (seriously, I actually left the room and arranged my clothes for the day and when I went to check on it it was still cold) and is so weak that it takes another 5 mins to make hair wet enough to wash, water saving really isn't what they are achieving. It took me half an hour to have what is usually no more than a ten minute shower.

    Overall, unless they change to softer mattresses and better shower heads we won't be staying here again. Which is sad really, as everything else about the place is quite lovely.
