My family and I have been to A Rani a couple of times and each time have found the service and environment to be quite pleasing. The food is fresh and delicious and we haven't had to wait for our food for a long time. My family and I look forward to going back!
Having grown up eating Thai food for the majority of my life, this place made me feel like home. I enjoyed the fact that the food tasted authentic and how the chef did not hold back on the heat of the peppers in my favourite dish which is larb gai (spicy minced chicken salad).
My partner's green chicken curry was also very delicious even though it may have been a tad bit sweeter than it should be.
Although I didn't try the pad thai, from the appearance the noodles were somewhat overdone and the dish rushed. Minus a point or two on presentation of this particular dish.
The wait staff were very polite (as with most Thai restaurants). I was also delighted to see sticky rice on the menu as it is not always available.
All in all a good experience for a place that obviously boasts its value in food and taste rather than the decor. Would have been nice to see a bit more Thai influence on the walls or music for that matter seeing that one wait staff was dressed in traditional attire and the other was not.
Definitely a place worth visiting with friends to share the generous portions.
