I contracted Archicentre to conduct a building inspection of my new house and have been very disappointed with the outcome.
The property inspector missed a number of major problems with the house, such as rising damp and a very large crack where the garage is coming away from the main wall of the house. Both of these faults were visible from the exterior of the house. The sketch on my property report also shows a four bedroom house, but my house is only a two bedroom.
Trying to get any sort of response from Archicentre has been incredibly difficult - they have continually refused to respond to my emails or return my phone calls. On two occasions, a person in their contact centre has promised that someone from management would call me to discuss my concerns but this has never happened.
When I finally got a response (in writing), Archicentre has said the problems are not structural faults and therefore they will not do anything. I am skeptical of this, but in any case I feel that such major problems should have been identified in the property report as it would have allowed me to negotiate a reduced sale price with the vendor.
Archicentre have continually refused to respond to my queries regarding the incorrect sketch of the house.
After paying Archicentre a fair amount of money to conduct a building inspection, I have been left disappointed in both the quality of their work and their level of customer service - not to mention out of pocket for these faults that I now have to repair with my own money.
To anyone considering Archicentre for property inspections, I would recommend finding another company to carry out this service.
