Canberra's 'Ardeche Restaurant' is a value for money fine dining restaurant that specialises in French and North African cuisine. There is an a la carte as well a set menu to choose between, which both contain a premium selection of delicious foreign delicacies such as pan fried snails served in white wine and garlic butter and the Canard a L'orange (twice roasted orange duck served on a roesti potato).

The wine list heavily features (of course) a premium selection of French wines as well as a large range of Australian drops. Bookings recommended for weekends.

    Thank you for lovely evening last night, food , wine and service just great, my group and I think this the best restaurant in Canberra.

    I was surprised by my dinner here. The menu starts as decidedly French, but in fashion, gives up, and just becomes a modern Australian range of food.
    The food is fine, though not outstanding, and the staff could have treated us with more attention, but we weren't without service either.

    In Canberra for the French Masterpieces at the NG, we thought it would be a good idea to go French. Big mistake with this restaurant, after ordering and waiting an hour and drinking overpriced French "plonk" with no one even approaching the table to ask how we were fairing an enquiry as to when the food would arrive with the staff met with a loudly uttered rude remark to the chef. The meal when it did arrive was good, for the duck leg anyway, but the filet steak ordered as medium rare was so overcooked it could have been used for caulking a wooden deck. We decided to leave and an attempt to charge us for items ordered but not served was the rounding out of the night. The place is in my opinion third rate and they are in need of taking lessons in service. Don't go is my honest opinion

    I love this place. Can never decide what to order as everything on the menu is so tempting and always superb. Excellent service and wine list coupled with daily specials always makes this an excellent choice for Canberra dining.
