Auburn Beauty Therapy is by far one of the best beauty salons I have visited in the 20 years I have been receiving treatments. Maria's expertise in her field is second to none. Unfortunately these days it is too easy to get a beauty qualification, where you receive little training, especially in waxing and are basically taught how to upsell and not much else. I have received treatments in the past by therapists who have had 2 weeks training, use the cheapest of products and cause serious damage. Unfortunately most people do not know the difference between a qualified and an inexperienced therapist. Maria on the other hand uses the best quality products available and has a waxing technique that actually slows down the hair growth and eventually eliminates hair in its entirety. Her technique has proven results! Furthermore, I am quite a sensitive person and do not handle pain very well. Maria is the only therapist that has been able to wax my bikini line with minimal discomfort, and seeing that my visits to the salon for waxing are becoming less and will eventually not be required I think it is worth going through that little bit of discomfort! I am looking forward to receiving more treatments from Auburn Beauty Therapy, where I go when I want to be truely pampered and looked after.

What a terrible experience. I too am a Living Social voucher customer and the service I received was appalling. There was no greeting, no forms (disclaimers) to fill out, no analysis of my skin and no questions about my skin type. When I asked about the treatment and whether it hurt, all I got was "it might". I received about 4 minutes of the wand on my face (most of that time was on my forehead) and then (what I can only assume was) a mask was applied to my face and they left the room without a word. I was left alone for 15 minutes, they came back - wiped most of the mask off and said "all done". All up, I was on the bed for no longer than 20 minutes. The deal was advertised as $105 value and that's what I expected. I called this morning and asked how long the treatment should be and was told that it was a 45 minute procedure. Will never go back and will tell all my friends about the experience.

I'm just after having a so called 'micro dermabrasion' in auburn beauty...
although it was from living social i expected it to last more than 5 mins ! when i complained afterwards they didnt deny that they gave a half job - their excuse were that i got it from living social so what did i expect?? they complained that they had 300 ppl to do and they had no help ---- so why did they agree to the deal?
it was def the worst experience i have had with any business ...

I purchased a LivingSocial deal for Microdermabrasion at Auburn Beauty. I must admit it is one of the worst treatments I have had. Fair enough I only paid $29 but I would not say it was worth the advertised price of $105
I did not get a hello, was not asked if I had sensitive skin, did not fill in any disclaimer. The person taking my treatment did not introduce oneself so I don't know their name.
The microdermabrasion machine was moved around my face for no more than 3-4 minutes. I have had several microdermabrasions in the past so though I wasn't expecting 4* treatment for the money I had paid - I certainly was expecting better than what I received.

Maria is warm, attentive and exceptional at what she does. She does all of my manicures, pedicures, waxing and facials - and her work is brilliant! I have tried other Beauty Therapists closer to my work, with disastrous results. I feel very blessed that Maria is always there to fix the mistakes that other Beauty Therapists make.

I have come to Maria for waxing and facials for many years. Maria is the facial guru. She varies my facials according to season and skin condition. Sometimes she does microdermabrasion and sometimes oxygen/hydrating. Maria does a very relaxing facial on the day. A week later my skin looks amazing and friends often ask what I have done.I agree Maria is Hawthorns best kept secret. She is also a lovely lady.

Over the last 2 years I have been to Marias salon for facial sessions. I have completed two of the facial peel programs and have seen huge results on my wrinkles and pigmentation. Maria has great advice and little tips to get more out of the treatments. Its a nice honest environment to walk into, you always leave feeling vibrant and have had a laugh!

I have been atteneding Marias slaon since i have started waxing, and the results have been fantastic, as my hair is very course with Marias technique my hair is thinner and it is not as painful as it was when i first stared waxing. I am very happy with the results. Maria is a very warm welcoming person and invited me in her salon with open arms.

I have never been so disappointed in a service that I have felt the need to write a post. My friend (the bride) was left in tears and with the worst French manicure and pedicure I have ever seen. (We had to go elsewhere to re-do it!) This was all because 2 out of 4 of us had to go to another salon. We did not have enough time to sit around the salon for over 4 hours as it was the day before the wedding. They had originally told us there would be 2 people to complete the treatments, (4 mani and 4 pedi) and when the other person could not work we thought the sensible thing would be to split up. 2 to stay and 2 to go elsewhere. They were so mad! They were going to serve champagne ..which they packed away (in front of the bride) and then would not even speak to her during the entire treatment and then charged her more than they quoted. To do that to a bride the day before he big day is simply shameful as it ruined the whole day as she was soo upset. I would definitely NOT recommend this salon!

  How disappointing that I should write this review (which is the purpose of this forum) and the owner actually respond with more insulting behaviour. No the bride did not have "bride Brain" and as a professional your job is to make the clients experience something special before one of the most important days of her lives. We have every intention of all having our treatments with you that day. It was you who could not accommodate us. What is unbelievable is that you have to write your own reviews for your salon. Clearly the latest reviews have not been written by actual clients.

Auburn Village Beauty Therapy is a super friendly salon. Owner Maria welcomes you like a long lost friend, and makes your experience a happy, friendly one. The products are gorgeous and they are applied with expertise. I recommend this salon.
