I went here and shot the "Commando Pack" which came with 24 rounds of the .357 Magnum and 28 rounds of the .45 1911 which cost $180. First of all the prices, for someone that doesn't know how much gun related stuff is it will seem expensive, but it's really not. Handguns on average cost around the $1000 mark each, then you have to count ammunition which isn't cheap, the location of the place is right smack bam in the middle of surfers paradise so the location would be very expensive to rent/buy, the gun laws in Australia are very strict so ranges like this are very rare so when you think about all of that the prices are not expensive.

The range of guns to choose from is pretty good, you got a nice selection of calibers of handguns which starts at your small .22 right up to a big .50. In Australia theres a law that target shooters can't have anything past a .38, so seems that they have calibers like .44, .45, .50 is very rare for Australia so make the most of it! If handguns aren't your thing they have a few rifles (including a massive .458 elephant rifle) and a 12 gauge shotgun with Australia's only indoor clay target range. So theres something for everyone which is great.

One thing that I really liked about this range is that they allow you to load/unload your own guns which I really loved, so when i shot the .357 I got to open up the barrel and load the rounds into each slot and shut the cylinder, and with the .45 the rounds were already in the magazine but I got to insert the magazine into the gun and cock the slide. I know how to load/unload firearms but for someone that didn't know I'm sure that they would do it for you, but its really cool doing it yourself.

With the guns they are wired up to the walls but you can still move the gun around freely, the reason why there wired up is so the gun is always facing down the range (in a safe direction) which I didn't mind, I prefer shooting guns which aren't hooked up but I totally understand, cause they could get a loony thats trying to harm themselves or the workers. It isn't a big deal, after all it is Australia, it's lucky were even aloud to have a place like this.

The range I shot at was 12 meters long, which is a pretty good distance, I shot with my brother and we split the package, so I was shooting one gun while he was shooting the other, then we switched. There was a stupid $25 fee cause we were splitting the package which was a bit ruff but aw well. We got to keep our targets that we shot, I'm defiantly putting mine up on my wall. And there was provided earmuffs and eye protection that you have to wear.

Over all this was a fantastic experience, I loved it. If your heading up to Surfers Paradise do not miss it! Especially if you live in Australia or a country where gun laws are strict because this place is rare so make the most of it! I know I've written a lot but I just had so much to write about this place! If you have any questions ask the staff. Do not miss out on it!

This was a fantastic experience and I highly reccomend this to anyone whose ever wondered just what it feels like to shoot a real gun.
Trained professional staff are there to guide you from picking the right gun for your build to correctly loading and firing at the targets.
You can choose from a wide selection of pistols from a small semi automatic or right up to a 12G shotgun for big boys wanting to feel the big boom!
Next time you go to surfers paradise put this on your itinery, not only will it be a once in a lifetime experience but you will have bragging rights to your friends for years to come!
