Love it. There vegetable loaf is to die for. And their almond croissants.

Although it can get overly full (and I never enjoy waiting in queues), this is the place for the best almond croissant in Melbourne, in my opinion! Great food.

Success breeds complacency? This is a tough one to rate. Babka has some of Melbourne's best baked goods, but the service is always mediocre and the staff often unfriendly. It's certainly not child-friendly (don't bother trying to take a pram in!) and sometimes you feel like they're doing you a favour to serve you. Which they sort of are, truth be told. The croissants are well worth a drive across town and their Bircher muesli is Melbourne's best. Coffee is up there too. Just don't expect service with a smile!

The almond croissants here are the best in Melbourne for sure. It's always busy, which is a good sign.

It's a bakery with Russian options. We opted for a sausage roll and a salad - both of which were delicious. The sausage roll came with fresh bread and butter (mmmmmmmm), rocket and good sauce - it was definitely a high quality sausage roll. The salad was a decent size.

I normally make my own bread but I can't make any that match the quality of the bread they have here. If you go early in morning the loaves are still warm and could just be eaten plain. The breakfasts are really yummy and worth waiting in the queue to get a table. The pastries and almond croissants are to die for.

Worth a trip across town just to get the beautiful fresh bread on a Sunday morning. The cafe needs to be bigger so that more people can fit in at once but people line up for ages just to sample the beautiful food. The baked beans are a real must and the casalinga bread is to die for. The pastries are also wicked and yummy!!
