Balhouse Apartments are modern self-contained fully furnished studio apartments.  You'll enjoy the following conveniences at Balhouse Apartments: airport shuttle bus comes to the door, an easy one and a half kilometre, or two minute train ride to the City Mall, two train stops to the Transit Centre, more than 50 nearby 'Eat Out' choices, only a short walk to 'Chinatown'.  The Royal National Showgrounds are literally over the road.  It is a 10 minute walk to Royal Brisbane Hospital, shops, banks, hotels, trains and buses are a five minute walk away.  It is only 300 metres each way to two Olympic Swimming pools (one is heated).

    I hate writing negative reviews, but this one is well deserved - just look at other people's reviews of Balhouse online if you don't believe me.

    My wife and I paid for a week but left after 3 days. The linen was filthy (i mean REALLY filthy), there were no curtains and the flyscreens were broken. There was rubbish in the room, mould in the fridge, kitchen and bathroom (not to mention on the cutlery and cooking equipment). Our bathroom window opened straight onto an external staircase and had no curtains (so everyone could watch you on the loo. Nice!) There's a gig venue next door so it's noisy all night when a show's on. My wife complained about the dirty linen and they swore at her. We were refused a refund for our unused nights, but we were so grateful to get out of there we went and stayed in a hostel instead, which was much much better. Their website is completely misleading. It shows pictures of clean rooms with facilities which have been put in just for show. There's a picture of a swimming pool on their website under "our facilities", which is also a total lie. They describe themselves as clean, quiet and comfortable, but these are all complete lies. I knew they were cheap when I booked them, but I didn't expect to be sleeping in such a horrible place. I've slept in some rough rough places before, but nothing like this. I can't emphasise this enough.
