Reviews of Bambusia Chinese Restaurant
Get gee'd for this review because i'm writing it to the bumpin beats of Danny Brown's Smokin & Drinkin.
If you like rockin out to the sound of your own voice and stuffing your face with Chinese food, Bambusia is the hospital you should've been born in.
Two members of my squad had their birthday pre's at this place last weekend and, I have to say, we had a SIQUE TIME! (a "good time" for those of you who have life insurance and mortgages).
Let's talk vibes:
Bambusia doesn't look like much. It kinda screams Quentin Tarantino movie set. Felt like Uma Therman was going to come crashing through the window with a Samurai Sword.
ANYWAY! Heaps sick Chinese vibe it was mad.
Oh. The food.... man... so good. We had a MASSIVE group dude. Like... you know when you rock up to dinner with like 40 hombres thinking "they will have to restock the restaurant after entres." yeah that was us. We got BEAT. like... there was so much food! and it was ALL gangsta.
What takes this place from -good- to -straight baller- is the bar. Alcohol is cheap and it is ABUNDANT. We smashed through like... BOTTLES AND BOTTLES of spirits and they kept it coming (adhering to RSA law, of course!). Keep in mind, my squad are those people that hear a good track in a grocery store and start whipping and twerking right by the Cheerio's and oats. They drink.
BAMBUSIA IS A KARAOKE RESTAURANT. I know how that sounds "chinese restaurant with karaoke, what's new?" but straight up, this place is so great there have regulars. like... people who are there EVERY friday night for chinese food and terrible singing.
Seriously, BAMBUSIA is THE place to be for pre's food and drinks if you're in the Bondi area.
Food was devoured!
Alcohol was inhaled!
Justin Timberlake's Sinorita was successfully covered and the crowd totes joined in on the "it feels like somethin's heatin up, can I leave witchu?" bit. You know what I mean, don't act like you don't like JT aka HEyonce'!
Go to BAMBUSIA. Spend Money. Be Cool.
I've always found the food at Bambusia to be excellent, the food is fresh and well prepared. The staff are very friendly, and service is excellent, It would be worth mentioning that the new owners, have improved the whole ambience of the restaurant, the service, the food and the bar make for a very enjoyable night.
Karaoke over a meal always ensures a good time, but the staff could improve on their customer service a bit. Drink orders were delayed and staff had to be prompted for the change. When a glass broke, we also had to request for it to be removed from the table. However, putting that aside, the food was tasty (prawn crackers were a bit stale though) and we had an entertaining night.
