This bar has a great location in the heart of Newtown, the architecture of the building is very modern with 3 different levels offering 3 very different atmospheres. The street level is open plan with a section from which you can perve on passer bys, two bars and a large outdoor section on a deck platform that is great during summer (even though its still very popular in winter.) The bottom level has a bar area as well but is predominantly occupied by a Thai restaurant (the name of which I cannot remember which by the way serves quite decent meals). The top level is usually most popular at night time when it turns into a serious dance floor but also has indoor and outdoor areas in which you can lounge around with mates or that special someone at any time. The crowd at The Bank as far as im concerned can be a bit toffee nosed and wanky in that pretentious way - so you dont really go there for the conversation...if you know what I mean. The prices are above average but the staff are efficient and the venue is well kept so I guess you get what you pay for.

The Bank is quite a decent pub. I remember very vaguely what it used to be like when I was a teenager and the change is dramatic to say the least. There's always DJs on weekends playing decent music, the decked beer garden is great and the crowd and staff are friendly. I've heard the Thai restaurant food is also good but haven't tried it myself.

This place looks amazing after it got renovated. The back of the hotel, where the food is served is even more impressive looking and so is the Thai food. Be prepared, the servings are massive, so its ideal to share your food.

They spelt the name wrong, silly buggers. It's supposed to start with a W, not a B!!

Devoid of atmosphere. Extortionate prices. Give it a miss.
