This place is part of the fabric of Leichhardt, it's been around for many years. It's a little piece of Italy transplanted into Sydney. The coffee is flawless and you must try a gelato. Mmm, even in winter they are irresistible. I had a terrific bowl of pasta recently, I don't know why, but j can't ever get mine to taste this good, on that note, I will continue to visit this place, itread more
I've been going here for years, love the food and ice cream. The homemade tiramisu is definitely a specialty, cake and ice cream together is something else. Recently, the ice cream tastes slightly different to what it used to but still yummy. Coffee is also very nice! Customer service could improve
I love the Gelato here, and think the Toblerone is my favourite ice cream. Ever. I've found the pasta to be middle of the road, but sometimes that's all you need! The atmosphere is great - it's a bit chaotic and loud, but that's not a bad thing if you have a toddler in two, I reckon. What really gets me, being a soy drinker, is their utter refusal to do any mile but full fat cow's milk. Grrrr.
Bar Italia has always been my regular go-to place for when we are looking for a casual meal. The caf style atmosphere and the friendly staff are just some of the things that keep me coming back. They also have plenty of indoor seats and spacious outdoor courtyard that are perfect for a relaxed dining experience, although you might have to deal with the airplaneread more
The food there is undoubtedly overrated. I wouldn't call it great as two out of three times our pasta were overcooked and broken into bits, some even mushy. Taste was ordinary. We've certainly stopped ordering meals there but the coffee is still ok and gelato still good.
I kind of like to pay for food that I wouldn't cook or wouldnt be able to cook welll myself!! I could cook a much better pasta than that which is served up at this place!!! And mine is pretty basic! Gelato bar is always a mess and off putting getting bits of other gelato in your scoop! Cheap and nasty!
