This bar is rubbish. My partner had the nerve to stand up near a couch and chat with a friend (against the rules), and the management promptly had her moved out of the way. They came over to apologize and then proceeded to lecture my partner for not observing the rules of the bar! We left immediately. Don't waste your time!

This is my absolute favourite cocktail/wine bar, the atmosphere is great with mood lighting smooth music and lots of comfy couches it feels very romantic cool and relaxing. My boyfriend and I have been there several times and every time we have a new cocktail from the menu which has a huge variety it can be very hard to choose, my favourites to date are the Bacci and the Summer nights dream both are creamy and delicious.

Awesome service, great cocktail list and spirit selection, and a sense of achievement on the first visit for finding your way into this hidden little bar. (yes, just go in that doorway, the one with no signage, walk on down the stairs like you know where you're going, even if you don't.) The decor has gotten a little less quirky of late, with some of the crazy abstract art pieces that used to be displayed gone, much to the disappointment of my companion and I, as we previously had enjoyed the different interpretations we had of the paintings after each successive cocktail. AMAZING cocktail menu, the descriptions leave your mouth watering while you wait for them to arrive, and they are well executed as well, drinks arriving looking like masterpieces and tasting so good you will definitely want to try more.

It's the location, with its connotations that you are participating in something a little shady, that really give Bar None its edge.

It is hard for a Melbourne bar to seem edgy these days. Such has been the proliferation of bars in every permutation, combination, size, shape and theme that, in the inner city at least, trying to be out there is a race that is usually lost before it is run. But edginess is actually all a matter of context. If you dropped Bar None within a two-kilometre radius of the CBD it would scarcely raise an eyebrow. The low-ceilinged basement location awkwardly overstuffed with slightly trashy couches and armchairs is an all-too-familiar sight for inner-city barflies but Bar None's secret weapon is its location: Camberwell.
