My family and I were invited to a birthday party/dinner. Apparently, even as the person was organising the dinner, they were given 'grief' by the staff they contacted. Upon arriving, we waited a long period of time to order our meal. Then, whilst lining up to make our order, another staff very rudely told all of us (in an extremely terse manner) that we couldn't stand where we were standing (in an orderly single file line in front of the cashier...duh!?). No, we had to line up 'sideways and stand on the tiles'. Subsequently our turn came to make our orders. I smiled and said, 'yes...probably easier to put us all on the same order, but this lady (indicting a woman two persons behind me in the line) is at another table'. The management grunted 'oh, yeah ok'. I ordered, my mother ordered and the staff then went to section off our orders (because the next woman wasn't in our group)... I tried to explain again, and my attempt was only met with a disdainful glare and some virtually inaudible monosyllabic grunt... that sounded something like 'whatever'.
The (non family) woman's and my eyes met. She was as pertubed by our treatment as I was... but (wanting to make light of it only commented) 'maybe it's just been a long day?'.. to which she replied, 'no it's always like this, here'. I must have had a quizzical/incredulous look on my face because she added, 'yeah, that's what I've noticed for as long as I've been coming here, anyway'.
The evening went from bad to worse... in every way. The meals took a long time to arrive. I'm not going there about anyone else's meal, but suffice to say that in the many venues I have dined, what was handed to me this evening was the most poorly prepared and most overlyexpensive 'chicken dish that I have ever had the displeasure of having to reluctantly attempt to consume, let along pay for the privilege of doing so.
What happened next only made it worse... but you know it's late and I'm tired of thinking about this issue. Rather than getting upset, I'm going to try to do something to make sure that no one else ever had to be subjected the type of experience as I have... ever again.
It's simply not ok. $500+ was spent in that establishment before we left... and we left early too. That entitles we the customers, at least a basic semblance of civility, even if the food is horrid and costs an arm and a leg. So letters will be written and sent... and one more thing.
I'm going to NAME this place... to WARN OTHERS of what to expect if they choose to frequent this establishment and for that one reason alone. Go there at your own risk, but know that the chances of you not enjoying the experience is significant, or if it's like my experience... nil.
I'm am doing this, because I WISH SOMEONE HAD WARNED... ME!

I'm a sucker for a pub that sells Coopers on tap, so the Lakes has my vote. Situated 12 kms form Bundaberg, on the coast at the Southern most tip of the Great Barrier Reef, this newly built establishment looks a bit too much like a services club for me, but the food is good and the beer is cold. -

This Pub is Awesome got Great people good managment and an awesome atmosfere one of the best pubs i have been to... i will continue to go there... Food is also great!
