Barton's is nicely located, well-separated from the rest of the hotel, with a lovely outlook over the city's parklands from its good-looking dining room with well-set tables, perfect for a casual lunch or a business meeting to impress. A well-executed menu that includes some very un-publike fare with dishes such as duck confit and wild mushroom ravioli, grilled veal loin with a veal shank tart, or a rich and generously-flavoured Sicilian rabbit casserole with olive bread and butter pudding. The long list of daily specials almost requires a sub-menu and there's always a pie of the day with fillings such as spicy lamb with sweet potato.
