I've spent a month in Australia and tonight is my last night. We chose Barzura for my last meal on Oz turf and I can honestly say it was a superb choice! Firstly, the atmosphere was great, from the outside it looked warm and friendly and once inside it didn't disappoint.
The staff were excellent, incredibly efficient, didn't put a foot wrong and very friendly. I had the kangaroo and my friend had the trout, both of which the quality was very good and they were both cooked to perfection.
As for price, in my opinion it matched the quality and taste of the food.
Thanks for a great taste experience on my last night in Australia!!!

The second last time we went to Barzura was a while ago, so we were quite shocked with the new look when we had our dinner there last week. It now feels less formal and more upbeat, which definitely matches the staff's youthful and friendly attitude.

The menu is now reduced to bare minimum, so there are less selection to indulge from. The food is average and the serving sizes are acceptable.

Price wise, I would say that they could really do some pricing review, because they are just a little too expensive for a beachside restaurant with a limited view.

I have to say I agree with you Easternian. I love the new look of Barzura, but the menu is smaller and it is a little pricey. But, it's a great place to go to occasionally. You certainly can't beat the view!

Great restaurant away from the hustle and bustle of Coogee. Very nice meals for dinner and day time also. A little pricy but worth it.

Great location and view. They have great food here breakfast, lunch and dinner. My favourite meal here would have to be breakfast as the mains for dinner is a bit expensive for what you get and the beers are VERY expensive.

For stunning views, you can't go wrong dining outside this Coogee estalibhsment. Barzura seems to have been there as long as I can remember and is always a great place for breakfasts and a fun place to take a group of friends for lunch by the beach. Just get in early on the weekends to secure a seat.

Nestled at the southern end of Coogee, Barzura has become an institution.

In summer, the competition for outdoor seating at Barzura makes jockeying for position at the start of the Indy 500 look like a doddle. Prospective diners hover, ever vigilant; no sooner has a patron vacated a seat than other candidates swoop like gulls on a chip, banging buttocks in the battle for seat space. It's brutal. But that's summer. It's winter now, wet and windy and cold as a witch's tit, so tonight my wife and I are eating indoors. Nestled at the southern end of Coogee, Barzura has become an institution, a little piece of the Mediterranean in Sydney with its white painted exterior and breezy, come-as-you-are vibe. The place has been going strong for 14 years, which means they must be doing something right. The dining area is a large uncluttered room, the walls of which are lined with cushioned banquettes and overseen by a mural depicting sandy scenes. The far end of the room is dominated by a colossal wooden sea chest, so monstrously heavy-looking that you hal...
