Food is excellent. Service is variable. Last visit it took an hour to get the entrees due to one of chefs not turning up to work - however this wasn't communicated with us - we were just kept waiting. Other times it has been ok. However, as the food is so good, it is worth the wait!

I was hooked on this restaurant from the first time I ate here & now I make it a ritual to eat here at least once or twice a month! Great food & a huge variety to choose from the menu. Great service & ambient atmosphere. I recommend that you book in advance as later in the week through to the weekend this place gets packed & you won't get a seat unless you line up outside & wait. You have to try the deep fried ice cream for dessert. Simply mouth watering!

The food here is excellent. The service is generally very good. Although we did visit there recently now that the upstairs part has opened. Be warned because when I booked they put us on the top floor. That in it self was not a problem, but the menu says that because you are dining in the "premium" part of the restaurant there will be a surcharge and the menu prices are slightly higher because of the premium service. When I phoned to book, they did not advise of this and I found it rude that they assume you are willing to pay the premium. The food was just as good downstairs, so I cannot see any difference. My recommendation would be to ask for a table downstairs.

So, so , so good. The food is just sublime. They can do things with tofu that should be illegal. And they have a great understanding of food alergies for a local restaurant. The only draw back is that it does get pretty busy and thus they squeeze you in. But this doesn't effect the efficiency of service or the quality of the food. They can still bang out takeaway in a reasonable time on a Saturday night, which is why their menu is a permanent fixture on my fridge. Book ahead or you'll be sorry.

Make sure you make a booking - this place gets packed! The best Salt and Pepper squid in Sydney and wonderful Bon Fire where the meat is cooked at your table and you roll your own food. Updated decor means there is no old linoleum and it is no expensive at all. Very very recommended!

I have to agree with Momo. We were there about 2 weeks ago. The restaurant was busy, very disorganized and we were squished in between two tables with no room to move. The entre came with the main. The wine took forever and I thought the food was bland. Definitely not authentic.

Have just visited this restaurant as part of the NSW Wines promotion. Probably due to the promotion, the restaurant was extremely busy. The dishes didn't seem as authentic Vietnamese. The flavours seem to be milder but good - well adjusted to the Australia taste. Our entrees and mains were coming in all different orders, but it was probably because they were so busy. If you like a good black coffee, you must try their's. Served in the style of a 'drip' coffee, it's very nice. Good quality food for a low price. Worth checking out.

Authentic Vietnamese food, fantastic service from all staff and one of the best cheap eats in the inner city.

Don't drive past this little gem! Modest decor hides a fabulous authentic Vietnamese restaurant. A must-try is the King Prawn Rolls, yum!!

Authentic Vietnamese food that's been served up from this unassuming restaurant's kitchens in Marrickville for the last 30 years. Be sure to try the bonfire beef or 'roll your own' Vietnamese rolls, with meat cooked on your table. Not only great food, but incredibly cheap!

Exotic pictures of Vietnam, of Ha Long Bay and water puppets on canvas surround the walls of this Marrickville find. This is Saigon central with 333 beers, red conical-shaped lampshades and two-for-one cocktails which actually measure up in quality to any city bar and anyways it’s always happy hour with ever-smiling owner Harry. Menu must-haves include lemongrass bean curd and prawn-wrapped sugarcane with lots of crispy salad and pickled turnips. The rice cakes are a treat too – gooey on the inside and crispy outside!
