Bayford Volkswagen is Melbournes newest Volkswagen dealership in the north.  Bayford Volkswagen is part of the Bayford Group, a family business since 1917 and the longest running family owned car dealership in Australia.     I will never buy another car from this dealership and would not recommend them to ANYONE. The after sales service is the worst I have ever come across. Since purchasing my new car at the start of this year I have had nothing but problems. I have actually lost count of how many times I have had to take my car in to their service centre (Most of the time for the same issues!!!!!) and they help been less than helpful everytime. Not to mention all of the paper that came with my car said that my car had only had 15kms on it the day I picked it up, when it actually already had 100kms on before I even drove it out of the dealership. To say that I am unhappy with my experience with them would be a complete understatement! I have voiced my disappointment with not only the dealership but with people higher up and nothing has been done to rectify a thing.

    At first FABULOUS customer service from them. They were knowledgable and described the vehicle acurately whilst showing attention to detail it actually sold us on the GOLF 118 BUT then when orgnising to take delivery of the car we were told " we dont do deliveries on saturdays". When I questioned them and said this was the only time we could pick up the car I got what is obviously the standard speel" as you can appreciate we are a retail enviornment and saturday is one of our busiest days " Ok so you sign on the dotted lline then they really dont care WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! WHen I challenged them they became inpatient and agitated with me and said well maybe we can do it but it will have to be between 9am - 10am. We live 1.5 hours away from this dealership. I asked to speak to the management who had the gaul to re interate what they had said then asked me" How often do you take delivery of a new car? Once every 5 years perhaps? " I replied that it was actually every 2 years. They replied smooth as silk: " Well dont you think you could be a little bit flexible and take delivery during next week?" I advised them that my husband worked away every 7 days which they were well aware of and then disclosed that I would not be able to take deliver of the new car next week and even though I was reluctant to disclose the following I did and stated that I would be undergoing chemotherapy and that I would really apreciate their co operation due to my circumstances they replied " I understand" which was a standard customer service blurb an HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE to my circumstances. I expressed my disappointment in their reluctance to help ME their CUSTOMER! Seeing i was getting nowhere with them I advised that I didnt need this stress and that they could explain to my husband WHY we could only take delivery when it suited the dealership at which point I hung up as I was gobsmacked at their lack of decency. My husband has spoken to them today no apology was made and they still TRIED TO CON my husband to pick up the car with their "5 year speel" because it SUITED THE DEALERSHIP they even went as far to coment that they" had no idea what they said that upset your wife" we have left a message for the dealer principle today to seek assistance but the call has not been returned. No surprises there Im guessing they didnt even get the message. I really regret not buying from Barlowworld now and we are considering cancelling the contract as are absolutely disgusted at the indecensy of the management. Do yourself a favour yes you will be dazzled by the showroom and staff in sharp suits BUT BUYER BEWARE once you sign on the dotted line they really couldnt care less about you or DELIVERY of your new car. Their mission statement includes the word INTEGRITY... I have lodged a formal complaint with VW Australia today.

      So after placing a compliant with VW australia they called back and said the car would be ready for delivery this Saturday. The dealers sales staff also called to confirm FRiday that the car was ready. Whilst my husband and a friend we had orgnised to help collect the car were half an hour away from the Dealership they rang and said they were sorry they had forgotten to install the media device accesory so the car was not available for delivery. My husband had driven 60kms and had to turn around and come home. Needless to say my husband was furious and we had inconvenianced a friend for nothing. The management contacted my husband and apologised and offered to delivery the car to us on the following Monday. My husband expressed his disappointment and suggested that they would need to come up with a way to make this right. As apologetic as they were this is unacceptable. We advised we will not accept delivery at this stage until we speak to the Dealer Principal I am so disappointed...

      UPDATE: AFter hubby spoke to the staff who apologized for the matter at hand and advised they would follow up with management they redeemed themselves by delivering the car to us at home ( 1.5hours away)and threw in some accessories. We really appreciated this gesture and the delivery. It had been a few weeks since I had chosen the car so I was pleasantly surprised again how awesome the GOLF is! A staff went thru the car again and explained all the functions and took their time making sure we knew about the MDI and bluetooth etc as well as other features externally. Thank You and Thank you to the dealer for orgnising delivery we appreciated it. Highly recommend the VW GOLF love it! Finally got to celebrate our new car purchase! I love my car!Hopefully this situation was a one off as the car really is fantastic and so was the staff.

    Honesty? Integrity? Stay away from this dealership.
    Bayford Volkswagen in Epping has the WORST after sales care I have ever experienced. After purchasing and signing off on our vehicle I never heard from them again! Finally, a person rang me and booked pick-up only to find out on the day, on our way to the dealership (which is 1 hour drive from where we live) that the car has not been registered and the registration details provided to me was incorrect. I had to then go and ring back the insurance and change information. Weve also had occasions when they send us forms to complete only to be told later that the forms they sent were incorrect and that we had to do it all over again.
    Bayford Epping has no sense of customer care! I will never repeat business with them again and I am definitely not going to refer them to my friends and family.

      Ok so after the rocky start... Can I just say - I Love my new VW from Bayford! After voicing my concern to Bayford about the lack of after-sales care, they were very apologetic and were quick to right their wrong. At the end they wanted us to walkaway happy and we did walk away as very happy customers from this dealership!
