why has this company got so many issues?
I had half a truck load moved but then they weren't able deliver on time so I had to sleep on a tiled floor for 3 nights, when the items were delivered they couldn't give me a copy of the invoice, when we finished unpacking we found that our most expensive items were all broken (irreplaceable heirlooms every item in the box, not sure if it related to the fact that we had a written quote), I asked the invoice to be faxed through which hasnt happened and now they dont respond to left phone messages and then when I got through I was told to ring back rather than a message being taken!
In hindsight it would've been easier to throw everything at the tip and bring the valuables down on the back seat of the car..

This company have moved members of our family on 4 occasions in the last 2 years. Every time, the men have been careful with our furniture. There has never been any issues with scratches or breakages.
The organisation of the moves has been prompt and efficient.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Our recent dealings with this company and this is how it went...

We had contacted this company both via phone and email to get a quote on how much it would cost to ship our certain amount of stuff from 'From address' to 'To address'.

I received an email from this company with a quote based on exact addresses and what we had to ship along with an upload date. I rang and paid the deposit immediately as we were waiting for an upload date before we booked our flights out of QLD. We had booked shipping approximately one and a half weeks prior to our leaving.

Now, this is where it starts to get interesting...

ON THE DAY we were meant to get our belongings uploaded I received a phone call from a staff in the office saying...'Theres just one small problem, the price that we quoted you was from Brisbane to Melbourne, weve just had a look at where Safety Beach is and thats over an hour away so youre going to have to pay an extra $100.'

Me: Hold on a minute, I have an email with the quoted price from Carina Heights to Safety Beach. I fail to see how this is being made my problem?'

Girl: Oh, you have it in writing do you?

    Me: Yes.

Girl: Fine then. Not a problem. The driver has your details and will be in contact with you. Goodbye.

Truck Driver after introductions etc..: Have you been spoken to about this job?

Me: Yes, a staff from the office just rang me trying to get more money out of me to get our stuff delivered because they didnt check where Safety Beach was.

The truck driver then proceeded to inform me where Safety Beach was in relation to Melbourne (Very helpful as we had only lived there for a few years prior to moving to Qld) and that there was no way he was going to be driving all the way down there for only 5 cubic meters of stuff (we had approx 15 cubic meters although size should be irrelevant once quote has been given, in my opinion.) He then asked how much I was being charged for the whole job and the conversation went like this

Me: Am I supposed to be giving you this information?

Truck Driver: You have to if Im the one thats gonna be taking your stuff all the way down there.

    Me: *quoted price*

Truck Driver: *Raised voice* Let me just get this one thing straight, I dont work for Bayside Removals, I sub-contract to them and theres no way in hell Im gonna drive down to Safety Beach for $xxx.

Me: I dont understand why this is being made my problem, especially seeing as you dont speak on behalf of the company. Can I please get you to speak to the management as they are the ones myself and my husband have been dealing with.

He said we would be hearing from the management.

About 10 mins later I received a phone call from THE MANAGEMENT. The staff whom both myself and my husband had been dealing with from the get-go.

Unfortunately, the conversation that ensued was both so ridiculous and full of swear words that I cant post the whole thing.

Basically, they proceeded to tell me that they only gave us pricing on going to Melbourne, not Safety Beach and that we never once mentioned exactly where we were going despite my protests that both myself and my husband ONLY ever said Safety Beach.

I then told them that I had an email from a staff at the company confirming price for shipping From address to To Address along with the listed items.

They told me they dont care if I had an email etc and was I going to be paying the extra $100 to get our stuff shipped or not?

The entire phone call consisted of them swearing at me and abusing me and ended with them hanging up on me.

They then rang again about ten minutes later...

I, having had my fill of abuse for the day, handed the phone to hubby to talk to him.

Management did not raise their voice Once to hubby and after about 2 minutes they said that they remembered the mention of said destination and that it wasnt that far away after all.
We told them that we werent interested in using their company anymore and that we just wanted our deposit back due to their breaking our trust. They then requested that we give them a bit more trust' so that they didnt get the bad review.

Our answer, in short, was No.

Basically, we ended up having to pay through the nose to get our belongings shipped before our non-refundable flights left the next day. This company is the most ridiculous excuse for a company. With absolutely zero customer service skills.

THE WORST COMPANY....Our family used this company just recently. Customer service, NONE, the removalists were fine, but if you have something stolen you would expect, after the manager tells you he has it, to get it back. NOT. Days later when we called, upset as we wanted OUR item returned we were abused and told to pull our heads in. I am still amazed how this company is still in business, to turn it around on us when they stole an item ($900 value) and then hang up, and then to call back and abuse us. Never again, I would not trust this company or expect the manager to back up his word.

"Thank you very much, I am sure my mother will let you know how much she appreciates what you have done. I do understand the position you have been put in as I a manager myself. You would have put your trust in your worker and he has thrown back in your face.
I think we all were very upset with the situation and may have directed our frustrations towards the wrong people.

      Once again thanks."

This is a quote from the above client stating that she was happy with the outcome and the apology from Bayside. This is the problem with this site, anyone can change their mind or or put a comment that is not true, or substanciated.

Very happy the phone was returned yes indeed, who would not be lets be honest. SHould never have come to this, if you Steve would like to put um my email I sent I think it would be fair to put yours up that you sent me, or maybe the whole lot then people can get the picture. At the time I sent the email my mother did not have her phone. I shall post the whole thread of emails just to be fair to you Steve seeing as you only put one side up, being the Manager and all :)

No problems we wouldn't be having this conversation if my employee did the right thing phone has been delivered its in your mums letter box sorry for the swearing

Clearly as my original email stated and as Steve states above, phone was stolen, we were abused and now we have it back, so happy outcome for us, and a lesson learned for the company, maybe customer service should be a priority.

This company is the worst excuse for a removals. They said they would pick up on a day and did not turn up rang them and said they would come tomorrow. same thing happened the next day. This happened for 5 constitutive days. Not once did they ring us. they even swore at me. On drop off, got a call saying they would be there at 11 at Night? so they eventually arrived up at 12.30 in the morning. every thing turned up to my surprise.
Would strongly advise you to choose another company
