The BBQ King Restaurant, Goulburn Street Sydney CBD can do the simple things right. Takeaway or sit down, either way you'll be treated to sumptuous pork or duck, the BBQ King even has a few vegetarian options. Wine can be purchased by the glass or bottle or a $2 corkage fee can be paid per person with BYO. Seats up to 200 people, functions and events welcome.
First time here on Friday night. Sat up stairs with the tablecloths on the big round tables and the nice pctures on the wall. Went with people who have been here before so that made it easier when ordering. Duck wraps, Mix pork plate and ginger dry noodles. Very good and delicious food. Promted service. Much try places in Sydney's Chinatown. A institution they say. A little bit on the Dear side.
It may not look like it given it looks a bit shabby but in chinese restaurants, shabby sometimes means great food which is definitely the case with BBQ King.
The food is awesome and they are open until very late. If you come here, you have to try the peking duck. This is one place that you cannot complain about the service. They are fast and efficient and the food comes out very quickly and it is always great.
We often get duck and bbq pork from the takeway window..
Love this place, especially late at night after a few drinks with friends. You can always count on this place being open.
For me, this is the best chinese food in Sydney. The S&P prawns are legendary and the special fried rice, amazing!! Service is always good although dont expect too much conversation! The BBQ pork and duck - it goes without saying MUST be tried.
BBQ King is a Sydney institution and memories of late night, 3-4am dinners, for years with friends keep us returning for more. However, in recent years they have sent their prices through the roof and in all honesty the quality of chinese food isn't best in chinatown. Corkage is ridiculous priced!
