Spent the weekend here with friends and was really impressed - great new menu in the bistro, value for money and the renovations look awesome! Will definitely be back!

Great place for chill drinks or a pretty decent pub meal but they tried to make the top level of this place a club.... its not a club. Still awesome

Having lived in Coogee for over 40 years I've seen the Coogee Palace evolve over the years. It's in a brilliant spot and I've definitely had some fabulous times there over the years. The problem is that now it seems to be getting run down and has seen better days.

It's great to sit at the bottom corner bar on a summer's day and look out at the water and watch the passing parade. The only problem is hoping the bar will have the drink you want (if you want anything other than a beer!) and then you have to deal with the attitude of the staff. They're not all bad, but I've definitely come across some doozies! The view from the balcony of the top floor is spectacular, but the venue isn't utilised to it's best potential.

The middle level used to be a pumping nightclub with great music. I've walked in there a few times over the last couple of years and the place has been dead. Such an underutilised space.

The food downstairs has changed hands so many times I've lost track of who's running it now. But, although it's not too bad, it's nothing to write home about. There are some specials on certain nights, but the queues from the local backpackers are enough to turn you off! Not so much of a problem if you get there really early though, which can work in well for people with young children.

All in all it's a venue that has been wonderful in it's day, and could be again. If only someone would give it some TLC.

Great venue on beautiful Coogee beach. Recent renovations are revitalising this venue to be one of the best in Sydney. Cheap prices with fantastic seafood and pub classics. Massive too, with heaps of rooms for functions.

If you're after a classy or luxurious place for dinner and a drink...this isn't it!
The Palace, although being great fun, is not for those looking for a 5 star night out.

But the great thing about this place is that it doesn't try to be something it's not! It's for people who are looking for a good time. Locals who don't want to spend all night getting dressed up, seem to go there. It's a pub, and that's all they try to be, and as a result, it's great fun! I've had a couple of great nights there and every time I go back, I swear to myself: "I need to spend more time here"!!

Great spot for a beer after meeting some friends at the beach... or meet friends there for a beer and then go to the beach! Great way to kick off a day, afternoon or evening.
If you're sick of the over-the-top side of Sydney, head to the Palace!

    Ultimate Sydney

While other beachside suburbs have turned their iconic pavilions into pricey restaurants, in Coogee the stunning 123-year-old building remains firmly ‘for the people’ as a laid back pub. Once upon a time it had swings, rocking horses and a herd of 14 donkeys out the front; now it has an expansive al fresco terrace that’s just perfect for enjoying a cold one in the sunshine. Inside there’s five bars, two restaurants and a host of giant TV screens for those all-important big games.
