2 weeks ago, after reading all the positive reviews of the fish & chips served at this seafood shop, we decided to go there and try the highly recommended fish & chips. Yes, the quality was actually very good indeed. However, we noticed there was a sign at the corner that said: "Under New Management". Today, we went there again and also brought some friends along to have the highly anticipated fish & chips lunch. This time, we nervously noticed that the 2 people preparing the food were new and unfamiliar. The lunch was sadly disappointing. The battered fish was very oily. Also, the battered fish must have stayed in the oil too long, so much so that when the fish was served to us, the battered skin was rather hard instead of crispy. It was amazing that within just 2 weeks, the standard of the highly-rated battered fish has dropped. We suspect that, perhaps, the "new management" is still in the process of mastering the technique of preparing the fish & chips that their customers used to enjoy at this shop. Let's hope so.... -

This is the BEST fish and chips in the area. We grab a meal here every Good Friday and whenever we are passing. I just can't think of anywhere more friendly and with kinder people. The homemade salads are to die for as well! WONDERFUL service and good food...what more can you ask for!
