Myself and the girls from work have been to Beijing House for lunch on a few occasions, on our lunch break on a Friday. One of the girls, who is gluten intolerant, normally orders a meal instead of yum cha and 99% of the time her order is either completely forgotten, missing something or wrong. Despite this, because the food is quite good, we have returned a few times.Today is my birthday, so we decided to have yum cha for lunch. Instead of ordering a meal, our gluten intolerant friend decided to have yum cha, however, we ordered some of the food that is made either with rice paper or cooked without wheat. Well... The food never came...Despite chasing up the staff 3 times in the space of 45 minutes (and basically being ignored), while sitting there not eating and going hungry, the food never arrived. Not once were we asked if we were okay, since we were sitting there not eating. Not once were the staff polite and offered to check on our food. After an hour, because our lunch break was over, we left... hungry... While paying for our drinks, our complaints regarding the non-service were practically met with "too bad so sad". What a joke.I can safely say we will never go there again, as there is another yum cha restaurant right across the mall that employs friendlier, more helpful staff who actually feed you. After all, they are a restaurant.

We went on line to see where there was some nice Yum Cha. We have been to King in the valley before so we went to Beijing House. WOW we had the best Yum Cha ever and that includes Melbourne... Three trolleys one with Steamed, one with fried and another with sweets... Thanks for the best Birthday Lunch EVER!

I walk by this place a lot but never gone inside, from reading the menu I am not sure if most people would understand what exactly they sell. Not too sure if local Aussies would spend Top dollars to eat in a 'Chinese food' joint. They usually station a waitress outside the restaurant for enquiries of their cuisine which offers a bit of help in decision making.

Michael Dong and Sam Feng have recently opened this Hong Kong-style dining room, and the kitchen specialises in Beijing-style cuisine such as abalone in oyster sauce, plus a two-course traditional peking duck. The menu is extensive and takes in everything from live seafood to dim sim. Banquets/set menus are available. Wines come from Australia, New Zealand and France.
