Bella Luna Garden Restaurant specialises in modern Mediterranean style dishes. With fresh and authentic ingredients, the food is delicious and tasty.

Set in one of Southport's last heritage buildings, Bella Luna, has been restored to reflect its original charm. The tapas bar leads onto an all weather garden area. In summer the garden is opened up to the breeze and cooled with fans, in the winter months the area is heated by gas heaters to create a warm and cosy setting. In the evening the garden is transformed with soft music and fairy lights creating a romantic atmosphere.

It was our 3 year anniversary, and we had decided to try somewhere different. We had been told good reviews about Bella Luma from family. Upon entering we noticed the garden dining area featured tables with plastic chairs, hardly the 'beautiful' atmosphere we had expected, but we were forgiving as we know a restaurant's service and food could re-deem them. Upon ordering drinks, we were told there was no coke, only pepsi, to mix with the spirits...hardly a good start... who would drink bourbon with pepsi?? For entree we shared the salt and peper quail. The dish was beautiful!! What a great way to start our meal. For mains we ordered veal scalloponi and pork ribs. The veal was not what we expected; the sauce was sweet, almost tasting like melted icecream, with mushrooms in it, not at all like other veal scalloponis we had experienced...the potato appeared to be deb, or 'fake' potato, and the vegetable sides were burnt, all in all I couldnt even attempt to finish the dish. For the pork ribs, the main that arrived was a completely different dish, instead we had been brought a lamb dish, which in it's self was not what we ordered, and lacked flavour; the best part of the dish was the side of chips. All in all, it was a dissapointing night out, overpriced, and perhaps the chef should try the dishes before serving. Will not be coming back.

Service is excellent but thats about the only thing that makes you want to go back. In my opinion the food is ordinary. Eatable definitely but I have decided not to return there unless meeting with a large group of people as the atmosphere is lovely-very inviting and the staff are excellent. The owner needs to sample the food more often to keep him on his toes!

I met up with someone I hadn't seen for 15 years for a meal. Service was brilliant, he came around to ask what we wanted many times but had no problem when we weren't ready - fifty times. Food was absolutely gorgeous. Selection of wine was awesome. The jazz (Nora Jones) was nice an appropriate. Too cold to sit in garden part but it looked nice and clean.

A pleasant family run restaurant that is well established in the heart of Southport. The food is consistaltly good and the service always friendly. The garden setting out the back is very relaxing and is family friendly

Another one of those restaurants that has been around for ever. I have over the years organised large groups to dine here (usually lunch time) and have never been disappointed with the service or the food. The staff are always friendly and polite and it is somewhere that I know I won't be disappointed in.
