    Dismal meal and service.The meal I received was inedible and after sending it back a staff came to tell me that the food was ok, the customers never right and they cannot let the uneaten meal go unpaid for. I have never been more disgusted at the way I was treated by a staff of a bistro. I was amused to hear the couple at the table next to us go through the same situation with the same treatment shortly after. Prices are far too high for the quality of the meals. Although the venue has recently been revamped, the clam shell light fittings and over design give you the feeling that your in a low class family diner. I half expected salty the seal to step out from behind the dressing table sitting in the middle of the bistro. I'm a big fan of both the yards and the fynsford hotel so I can't figure out how the management have gone so wrong with the belmont. The staff told me they were in charge but refused to give me any more info, incident happened on 29 July 2011. Second occasion meals have been inadequate in bistro, at least they were edible the first time around. Service from other staff was friendly but a little lacking, I can't be sure but they may have been training new service staff. Had meal in pub before with no problems but I won't go back till they replace their management and train other staff.

    Struggled under the pressure on a busy night. Meals took 2 hours to arrive and they were cold (one was burnt yet still cold) and two dishes were not what we ordered so we had to wait longer again. NO APPOLOGY WAS GIVEN. When we approached a staff member to complain, she seemed to have power issues and gave a very condescending appology, advising us that "the customer was not always right". Very dissapointed.
