It is casual, bistro style - wooden tables and chairs, a bar along one wall while at the back a see-through partition looks into the busy kitchen, hiding no secrets. 

The menu is loosely based on northern Indian dishes but, as the name suggests, it is not bound by religion or tradition. 

 Beyond India has genuinely fresh and well-prepared food.

The curry you always come back to - excelent alternative to hot chips and pies at the clipsal 500, thicker sauces and better meats than any other indian ive had. They serve later on oconnel street than most other places too which is handy for me.

My fail-safe for Indian takeaway! I love their chicken korma, garlic naan, and lemon rice. Always delicious, consistent, and always served up with a smile. The dine-in atmostphere is nice too. Recommend!

This place is amazing! The cheese naan and lamb korma is the best! Best service is from Kushnaarz. Its more of a cafe feel with standard wood tables and floorboards and can get noisy and squashy especially on weekends. The food tastes better during the week rather than weekends as curry tastes better the 2nd day and not as busy during the week so more love goes into the food.

This place is popular and whilst it's on the expensive side for Indian food, the food is obviously a draw card. The naans here are big and delicious. Our meals were fine. Only thing I was disappointed with was the "standard" menu - no outstanding / unusual dishes.
