    Sophisticated, contemporary Italian fare within a stone's throw of the SCG.

    Our usual fare when we frequent the Olympic Hotel opposite Aussie Stadium is a schooner of beer and a barbecue sausage in a bun to set ourselves up for the sweet torture that is life as a Sydney FC season ticket holder. After the game we adjourn to the pub again to discuss the finer points of the performance. If there are any. What we don't usually do is linger over a rather nice bottle of Fonty's Pool pinot noir while discussing the finer points of the potato bobbin and trying to ignore the muted chants of "change the f---ing channel" (don't ask) from the schooner-drinking, sausage-eating rabble next door. Actually, there are no finer points with regards to the potato bobbin. To give you some idea of the provenance of this item (as in a main course of confit duck, broad beans, bacon and potato bobbins with thyme pesto) a Google search brings up just two results.
