Out and away from the retail and food crowd and near a residential area across a large public green space, Bitton is that kind of restaurant that gives you a different feeling.

Firstly, there is no timed parking on the area, so you already feel like you are outside the city. Then, once you come in, you are greeted with this cosy European / French feel in this spacious place filled with tables for groups, small and large.

There is also a larger alfresco dining setting at the back for even larger groups and a kids play room while at that.

The garlic bread that we ordered were served generously and slightly burned like it was intended, and used natural garlic paste that can be a little sweet after a while.

The eye fillet was quite small but very soft even when cooked on medium. It came with a bed of chips and herb salad. The truffle rissotto was also quite good and properly portioned, albeit a little salty

The staffs were very attentive and courteous, and we were served a complimentary hor dourves before the entree and a small caramel custard at the end.
  • I had the most fabulous experience here. It's clearly a 'cut above' the cafes in the area, offering a higher-end, more restaurant style experience - but in a relaxed setting. The service was FANTASTIC, and the staff seemed to love their job and serving customers. The food was also much more impressive than the usual - it must be expensive ingredients, or a special type of cooking by the chef. It is a little expensive, but the saying "you get what you pay for" is true. If you're looking to impress someone, this is definitely the place to go. #reviewtowin

  • I love this place, it's a shame it's so expensive. There's a great place out the back (a covered balcony type space) with toys for kids to play. They've picked quiet toys, so I didn't feel like my daughter was annoying people. It's clean, stylish and friendly. The food and tea is amazing. The coffee is fine.
  • Over priced and over worked staff make for an underwhelming experience.
  • David Bitton's cafe is a must-do when in Alexandria. The cafe is spacious and stylishly decked-out, with full table service (a rare find in the humble breakfast spot these days!) and a chilled-out vibe. It's a very family-friendly spot, so you'll often see lots of young mothers with prams in tow, and it's nice to see that the staff try really hard to accommodate them and don't get funny about kids running amok. Luckily there aren't screaming children running wild around this place anyway, as it has a playroom out the back where they can amuse themselves and stay out of trouble (and out of the way of non child-friendly diners). The food we had was amazing, with all-day breakfasts like French crepes with strawberry ad vanilla jam, and one-pan bacon and eggs with wood fired bread and tomato sauce. The lunch menu looked just as awesome, but I haven't got back there to try it out yet. Definitely one to plan a return visit to.
  • Bitton is a favourite caf in the area. Run by David Bitton & a great collection of staff, it is a well-oiled machine.

It is a large caf with two main rooms, seating out the front & a covered courtyard out the back near the childrens playroom. There is a selection of fresh breads, fruit & vegetables on sale. There's also a range of Bitton branded items to purchase, as well as some less common items and interesting imports.

Ive been there when a mums & bubs club was assembled at the tables on the footpath. The mums all rocking their bubs back & forth had a rather calming effect.

The coffee is good & the service is impressive. Ive only ever had breakfast items at Bitton, as their all day breakfast menu has been too difficult to go past, however the lunch offerings do look good.

I recently tried the chill scrambled eggs for the first time & they have a great depth of flavour. The French crepes are a delicious little meal but if you are after something heartier then the French toast is a winner. In the winter months I have enjoyed their polenta porridge, & Ill often order a side if roesti, as it is very impressive.
  • This is my favourite breakfast/brunch place in Sydney - fantastic food and the coffee is the best I've found. Service is friendly and professional - kid friendly whilst remaining adult friendly too! Seasonal fresh food and great menu.

  • Bitton is a unique cafe and offers a fine dining breakfast menu with a french influence in a relaxed cafe opposite erskineville park. The coffee is fantastic, and strong and the service always very on to their customers.
