This part of Australia street is jam-packed with awesome finds & Black Star Pastry is no exception. I have strolled past a number of times now but didn't stop until today as there was actually a spot free. I will definitely stop again. This tiny shopfront is making some of the finest pastries in Sydney. From their quiche lorraine, which had perfectly flaky pastry & a divine savoury filling of silky egg & crispy bacon; to their inspired persimmon danish which was vibrantly orange and had the most delicate custard. From reading the reviews papered to the front window it seems all the offerings are equally delicious. Oh...GREAT coffee too!

Christopher Thé toiled his craft at Claude’s classic French fine dining in the East before jumping ship to the inner west. He’s putting salt into sweet and people come from all over to get a piece. Goths, growing families and couples descend on the bakery for pies, pastries and other baked goods. Sit on a gnome-shaped stool if you can get one or eat your pastry Euro-style standing up.
