A fine dining experience in beautiful surroundings. Serving contemporary, Southern Italian cuisine using local Australian produce, this upmarket restaurant opened in 2005 and was a welcome addition to the Sans Souci restaurant scene. Located at the Northern end of Captain Cook bridge, your meal will be accompanied by charming views out over Sylvania Waters. Try such mouthwatering dishes as veal scaloppini with prosciutto or prawn, chicory and lemon risotto. The cellar stocks a good selection of Australian and Italian wines by the glass or the bottle. Feel free to BYO wine Sun-Thurs. A corkage fee of $3.50 per person applies.

This was my first visit to Blackwater and decided to celebrate my birthday dinner with my family after reading a wonderful review in the Leader newspaper. I was very impressed with the friendly and professional service. Decor and view was very nice although. We had garlic bread for entree and it was so delicious.. warm and it seemed like the bread was made there. I had the veal scallopini for my main and enjoyed everything about it except for the size- it was quite small for a main then profiteroles for dessert. I love my desserts and this didn't disappoint.
Overall i enjoyed my dining experience at Blackwater and would try again if there was a special occasion or if there was a 2 or 3 course special.
