The worst spa experience I have ever had. Never have I been treated so dreadfully. There was nothing pampering about this pamper package. Towels were wet and smelly. The massage involved pouring enough oil on me to deep fry a whale, followed being pummelled with burning hot stones, before having freezing lotion slapped on. A scratch of the head passed for a scalp massage. My complaints to the management were met with contempt and defensiveness. I was dismissed with a flick of the wrist. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favour- there are so many nice spas in Brisbane. Don't go to this one.
I have visited this salon once before (pre vouchers) and it was an enjoyable experience. I have recently visited the salon for the second time (post vouchers) for a pamper package and it was far from enjoyable in fact it was terrible.
When I went in to start my actual treatment, it was awful. The staff who worked on me was extremely rough, I wanted to ask the staff to be less rough but didnt. I was one of the worst treatment I have had and I have been to plenty of salons over the years. I wasnt informed what products were being used on my skin. They smelt and felt like some generic brand of creams. Very , Very un impressed. I dont not recommend this salon at all. The treatment didnt go for as long as expected, it fell 15 mins short of the recommend time frame I was advised. I feel my $79 was completely wasted.
Do not go here! It was the worst beauty experience I have ever had!!!!!! I could go into detail, but suffice To say the staff clearly didn't want to be there. They were rough and rude. They washed my face so nastily (getting soap or whatever it was (she didn't tell me) in my mouth and nose. I was just concentrating on breathing, and quite frankly in shock. The microdermabrasion was started (without warning). It was sore, and when I said as much, they said "well it's not meant to be nice"! Well I had hoped for a nice experience, given that I had to get my child looked after to go there! Luckily the entire procedure was over in 15 mins. The shortest ever facial! Can't I give it no stars?
I had a coupon for this place, which I bought from one of the daily deal sites. It was for microdermabrasion and it was only $15. I didn't feel comfortable in the waiting room. The staff that did it, however, was lovely and I had one of the most thorough micros I've had (I've had about 10 over the years). So I bought another 'deal' for 3 micros for 99 dollars, reasoning that I would ask for the same staff. Unfortunately, though I asked for that staff I got different staff on my next visit. This visit couldn't have been more different. First - they were just about to start the treatment when I realised they weren't using a micro machine (too bad if this was my first time) and when I asked them they said that they thought I was having some anti-aging laser thing...hmmm. Once that was sorted, they started the micro. There was no calming music, no relaxing interior. I was given a towel to put over myself that looked filthy. The 'retreat' is situated in a gymnasium and someone was testing the pa system the entire time I was there. They went really, really, close to my eyes with the micro, to the point where I asked them not to go so close. After the micro was done they said 'okay, We'll see you out front'. And I was like...ummm can I have some moisturiser? A bit of sun block? You know, those basic things that aren't too much to expect when the first layer of your skin has been removed? They got really, really catty about it ( I wasn't very good at hiding my concern) and they slapped on some moisturiser and slammed the door on the way out. Hmmm.
Unfortunately, I had to come back because I bought three treatments. I got the second treatment from the original staff and again, it was fantastic. When booking my third I asked for the original staff and the other staff on the phone (who sounded very similar to the staff from my second appointment) said quite rudely that if I was going to be specific about my staff I'd probably be waiting a long time. And the next appt with the one I wanted wasn't for like 3 weeks. So I booked in with the staff who I saw yesterday.
Well. I wish I could share a photo of my face today. The staff suggested a get a glycolic peel AND micro. Now I've had quite a few peels before, and I've asked therapists whether its a good idea to get both at the same time and all of them said no. BUT...I'm not a therapist. And this is the problem... The staff wanted to do three layers of the peel, but after two I said that I would jump out of my chair if they put another one on. I use the topic cream Epidupo on my breakouts, and I told the staff about this (they had no idea what I was talking about) and they suggested that I put some of that on when I got home. Of course, a quick google search when I got home revealed that was NOT a good thing to do. Today it looks like I have gravel rash on my face. There are brown marks where the top layer of the skin has come off, and my face is all blistery. I know that some of this is normal and to be expected but I have NEVER experienced such before and I have had peels and micros many times before.
This is the first review I've done and I know its long but I just think....how do we...the general public....no where to go for things like this? Word of mouth is the only way of knowing what to expect and I just wanted to let people know of my experience so hopefully it can inform their next decision.
