    If you're a new gym goer I wouldn't particularly recommend this one. I thought I'd end up going pretty regularly being that I work close by, but that wasn't the case, and I've had a lot more success at home on the exercise bike.

    While the staff are generally courteous, upon joining I wasn't informed verbally that I would be required to give them one months notice of termination of membership, even though they advertise no exit fee. I reckon if I choose to leave today, tomorrow, or next year and they still make me pay the weekly membership fee for the next month, that that constitutes an exit fee.

    Of course though when I joined up, they were all much happier to highlight the good things about the gym and the membership, rather then the things that might have made me have second thoughts about joining.

    All this means is that if I do decide to go to a gym again for whatever reason, all the good experiences I had with the staff there now mean nothing and this gym would be at the bottom of a very long list.

    The gym itself was very old, and the four or five times I went it was hard to get on some of the cardio equipment as it seemed to be perpetually out of order. There was no airconditioning either, only fans which really didn't cut it in the summer, even at night. I couldn't imagine what it would have been like in the day. To be fair, they are in an old building in the older part of Maitland that might be why they can't get airconditioning etc, but its still something they lack.

    All in all, I'd much rather have joined up at a newer gym.
