Bok Choy in Brighton is the younger sibling to a restaurant bearing the same name in Hawthorn. Serving Chinese cuisine, this restaurant is known for its peking duck dish and dim sims. Meanwhile, the décor is stylish and serene with dark brown walls, genuine Chinese ornaments and wooden dynastic tables and chairs. The black and purple yin and yang symbol gracing one of the walls is particularly captivating. Great value for money and efficient service will complete your dining experience.

Dreadful experience! We made a booking two weeks in advance for father's day, confirmed the week before and they called on the day to confirm. You could imagine the shock when we arrived only to find they had given our table away and offered to seat us in the back yard. Heart breaking for my Dad and family on father's day. Everything else in the area was booked out. They could not have cared less and told us to leave. We will never go there again and neither will our friends.

When dining in, I find the decor of the 'Bok Choy' in Brighton rather relaxing and comfortable. It leans firmly toward the fine dining end of the scale, and the staff are attentive to your needs without being intrusive or pretentious. This is a fine balance, and one many restaurants fail to achieve, - but 'Bok Choy' manage the perfect balance of earthiness meets sophistication. Whilst the food can only be defined as fine Chinese dining, the variety in menu dishes is reasonably industry standard. It is the little additional extras in professionalism and presentation which makes all the difference, and attracts the price tag attached. I would say the experience at this restaurant is one that you walk away from contented and satisfied, yet it is not a defining moment in dining experience. Given that the dollar is in the presentation, it would not be my first choice for take-away (economically speaking), but more a dine-in restaurant to be short-listed for special occasions and celebrations. I found the entrees extremely competitively priced for the quality or service and fare, but feel the mains lean toward being somewhat overpriced. What stands out is a very extensive wine list which is evidenced from the glassed wine-cellar in the centre of the restaurant. Wine lovers seem suitably impressed by this. Notable also, is a dessert list with a selection far exceeding what one would usually expect from a Chinese Restaurant.

Great food if a tad on the expensive side. This is like a suburban version of the Flower Drum. Highly recommend!
