Brown Sugar is a Bondi Beach institution and due to this it is frequently packed out. It is a small cafe space on Curlewis Street and you can usually locate it by the crowds waiting outside. I booked a section of Brown Sugar out for after City2Surf and they were nothing short of brilliant. Lianne made the organising process so simple and they even let us bringread more
This was not a cheap restaurant, but that's ok as the food was very good. However we were driving past Brown Sugar on Curlewis Street and noticed its now closed and the shop is completely empty! But their website still indicates they are open and at the same address.
Expensive, small portions, had to wait for 1 hr to get a place to sit. Got a massive soup plate, but the pasta dish I ordered was tiny - barely a snack. A few leaves of Rocket, pasta and oil should NOT cost around $20. In the end -The staff asked if everything was ok - I said food tasted good but the portion was miniscule - her reply...."ohhhh" I won't be going back. EVER. uh ohhhhh
Mmmm love it. Just thinking about this place excites me and has me planning my next visit back. The atmosphere is cosy and super cute. Waiters match a similar description, and are warm & friendly without being over the top. The menu starts with breakfast and finishes with mouth watering dishes such as favourites zucchini flowers, haloumi, mussels and theread more
What a way to start the day! Brown Sugar is fabulous. Their food, service and prices are top notch. I went there for the first time on Saturday morning with a girlfriend and we absolutely loved it. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was second to none. Given we both had the same thing I cant comment on much of the menu but everything we sawread more
Brown Sugar is the epitome of a cool Bondi restaurant for locals. It's off the beaten track a bit compared to the nastiness of Campbell Parade. Sometimes it's like being on a runway ( fashion not airport) as there are so many beautiful Bondi people in there. The atmosphere is great, the food is always memorable and the staff always happy to suggest food options.read more
Every time i walk past this place it's always busy - so me and my boyfriend went in for dinner last Friday. I had the duck liver parfait - amazing. Jesse had scallops with chorizo sausage - equally good. The waiter told us the fish pie was a signature dish - I'm not really a fan of pie for dinner but this was DIVINE - served with a side of truffle mash. The atmosphere is good -read more
