Brown Sugar is a Bondi Beach institution and due to this it is frequently packed out. It is a small cafe space on Curlewis Street and you can usually locate it by the crowds waiting outside. I booked a section of Brown Sugar out for after City2Surf and they were nothing short of brilliant. Lianne made the organising process so simple and they even let us bring decorations before the day and served us the doughnuts we brought with us with candles for a birthday. The food wasread more
This was not a cheap restaurant, but that's ok as the food was very good. However we were driving past Brown Sugar on Curlewis Street and noticed its now closed and the shop is completely empty! But their website still indicates they are open and at the same address.
Expensive, small portions, had to wait for 1 hr to get a place to sit. Got a massive soup plate, but the pasta dish I ordered was tiny - barely a snack. A few leaves of Rocket, pasta and oil should NOT cost around $20. In the end -The staff asked if everything was ok - I said food tasted good but the portion was miniscule - her reply...."ohhhh" I won't be going back. EVER. uh ohhhhh
