"Enjoy a Scenic, Relaxing, Lunch at the Gardens"
The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens Restaurant is situated in the fabulous setting of A World Class Garden, over looking the Derwent.
No longer just tea and sandwiches, but a very sophisticated restaurant with an excellent menu. All items are locally produced, with most of their vegetables sourced from a very large organic garden, with in the park. All eggs are free range. Breakfast is available untill mid day. We chose for lunch, Thai Prawn & Mango Salad, with Tasmanian Pepper-Berries. It was extremely colorful crisp and delicious. A Macadamia Encrusted Fresh Blue Eye. It was thick, moist and succulent. The Lemon butter sauce and greens from the garden were an impeccable accompaniment. A perfect preparation and presentation. We ate outside on a spacious al fresco balcony with sweeping eye catching views, For cooler days plenty of indoor dining space, but still with the beautiful views. A fabulous place to dine and also for weddings and other functions.
