    As a Social Club member, it surprises me that no one has countered or commented on review below which has been visible for 12months. Firstly, 1.50pm on a Friday is not the busiest period of the week dining-wise and any staff with spare time would be preparing for the biggest night of the week only hours away. 'Very friendly', I am agreeable with but cannot accept the "let's never come here again" comment.
    As the most important venue on the peninsula for those over 50 other than the RSL; and with a membership of over 2000, such comment is inconceivable, as members would not return week after week if such were so. Quality food/meals and value for money are offered as well as expected by the membership and has been my experience to date. Competition is rife today and members would soon complain or vote with their feet if standards and quality were to drop.

    Went to the bowls club for lunch today (Friday) on a last minute whim at 1.50pm as we were driving past. The staff were quite limited in number but very friendly and helpful. Not a lot of atmosphere happening at all so we chose to sit outside on the 'smoking' verandah which was lovely as we could see the water (no smokers there).
    I ordered the 200g rib fillet done medium, mushroom sauce and salad, no chips. Although the steak was perfectly cooked (although I doubt it was 200g) the mushroom sauce was barely warm and there was a just a small amount of salad on the other side of the plate. I would not consider myself a big eater by any means, but I could have eaten the same amount again after I had finished. For $14 at lunchtime I had expected a bit better, especially considering the amount of competition in the food business these days.
    We didn't complain to the Club but resolved 'Mental note; let's never come here again".
