Made an appointment and when we got there, they seemed very disorganised. The sales person kept asking me the same question over and over so I knew she wasn't listening to my answer each time. She was very attentive until about 10 minutes before the hour. Then she became pushy and started saying I only had 10 more minutes and I'd better hurry up. I'd found a beautiful $4500 dress that I loved, but because she started rushing me I walked out with nothing and they lost a sale. No one mentioned on the phone when I booked that they'd only give me 1 hour, the sales person acted as though I had all the time in the world at the start saying I should try on 5 or 6 dresses, but she was so slow helping me into them that we only got through four and then she started rushing me. Not a good experience at all.

Located conveniently on Clarence Street near Town Hall Station- Brides of Sydney don't necessarily require a booking and if there is availability- they are happy to serve walk-ins. There is a large selection of pre-loved wedding dresses as well as new. The system of choosing a dress or dresses to try on is easy- the assistants give you token which you hook onto the hanger of any dress you see that takes your fancy. Once you are done the assistant brings all the tagged dresses into private dressing rooms which have huge mirrors and seating for your trusted mum/friend/advisor.
They have dresses for many budgets- the preloved range from $400 to around $3000 and the new dresses range from $1200 (basic dress made from polyester to around $6000 (for a 5 types of silk variant). They have accessories from veils, the shawls to hair accessories, and they also have a section for bridesmaids dresses and flowers girls (though I personally felt the dresses in the bridesmaid section were very limited in styles).
Overall, a good experience if you are looking for an affordable dress. If you are looking for a boutique experience this is not the place for you- but if you don't mind shopping around the store with around 10 other brides looking for a reasonably priced dress you are in the right place. I'd recommend every bride come here to get an idea of what styles they like/don't like.
