If your child is an independent, disciplined child then this is a good school and will probably be fine, especially in the early years (ages 3-6). If your child needs strong boundaries and firm structure, look elsewhere. Lot of great principles but given the fees there is limited support for any behaviour that is out of the norm.
If youâ??re the sort of carer that believes in strong boundaries, firm structure and discipline for the children you care for rather than fostering self respect, respect of others and a way of learning that runs parallel with the childs developing brain, then yes defiantly look elsewhere. In my experience any child will flourish in a Montessori system especially a child with â??behaviour that is out of the normâ? as long as the child is given the time required to adjust. My oldest sons mother is a State School Principle and my wife is a State Primary School teacher and we all agree that Montessori is the best way of educating children. Speaks volumes.
Really? Is 4 years long enough time to adjust?? We tried for 4 years to make it work for our son and it just didn't. He and his brother are now in the state system and they are thriving. That speaks volumes!
IF YOU WANT MONTESSORI TO HELP YOUR CHILDREN, YOU HAVE TO BRING MONTESSORI HOME AS WELL. IF YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE A CHANGE IN YOUR CHILD'S LIFE JUST BY SENDING THEM TO MONTESSORI SCHOOL YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME. TO AnnaD IF 4 YEARS IS TO LONG FOR YOUR CHILDREN'S BEST INTEREST, LIFE INDEPENDENCE, WHY HAVE CHILDREN AT ALL. YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT YOUR OWN ENVIRONMENT, I BET IF A STATE SCHOOL HELPS THAN I THINK YOU NEED SOME HELP TOO.
